I had a great visit at with my old friend Tom Bell and my new friend, Rashad Rasheed, at their Hamilton, Ontario branch. I can't wait to get a tour of their brand new building in Alberta as well. Did you know they now have 11 Canadian Dealers? Did you also know XCMG was founded in 1943 and is in the top 3 heavy equipment manufacturers globally?
How about who knows what XCMG stands for? Well, in case you don't know, it stands for Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group.
They will also be at the Trade show Sept 6-8th so stop by and check them out for yourself at the show.

My 2nd stop was to see my friends at They have lots of Case machines in stock and ready to go, including the electric Case CX15E excavator that is in the showroom.
Lots happening at Terapro. Did you know they are now and dealers?
Jake Sparling, a technician at Terapro , pictured here on the Case TL100, which, by the way, says it's super easy to work on for maintenance, loves to learn new things. Look out for something coming to Equipment Journal in the near future on just that.
Jason Leger said their very busy Vars branch will be looking for a new manager when Bill retires. So, if you are billingual and looking for a new career, maybe Terapro will be your new home.
It is always a pleasure seeing my friend Mario as well. Another big selling item their is the Case ride on toys!

My first visit today in Ottawa was finally seeing new place (although they have been there already since 2020) and getting a personal tour from Noah Robichaud, who is 3rd gen of Eastrock Equipment. His grandfather started the company in '93. His father, Greg, and mother, José also in the picture with Noah (2nd image). They first started dealership selling Furukawa drills and then became a Doosan dealer, now Develon and the newest addition, becoming a Wacker Neuson dealer which has allowed them to expand and serve a lot of new customers daily in both of their locations Vars, Ontario, and South Windsor, Connecticut.
Being a 3rd gen myself, I understand Noah's pride carrying on his family legacy. Noah works extremely hard and loves to serve his customers, so make sure to stop by and say hi if you are in the area or looking for those machines.

On Friday, I finally stopped by to visit our new customers, , in their Richmond Hill location. UHI Machinery was established in 2018, an Australian company that is rapidly expanding across the globe, with four branches here in Canada. Their brand ethos is "small machined big savings," specializing in both construction and landscaping equipment.
Steve Ni, VP, UHI Machinery Canada gave me a tour and told me that just last week his lot was full but they have been gratefully very busy. He also said they keep the most needed parts on hand or can get others very quickly so people don't have to worry about that.

Last week, I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Jake Davis, owner of RESCON (ROCK/EARTH/STONE CONSTRUCTION), .ltd and his crew on their current jobsite in Pottageville, Ontario. I met them along with their sales specialist, from Bobcat of Barrie (Oaken Equipment), to interview them for an upcoming Bobcat Testimonial in the Equipment Journal.
I was very impressed with the quality of work Jake and his crew do (I can't wait to see the finished product-what a pool!), and even more so with his knowledge and attitude.
What set Jake decision over the edge to go with Bobcat machines, you ask? Well, you guessed it, you will have to read about it in an upcoming issue of the Equipment Journal.
He loves his Bobcat E60 compact excavator with engcon attachment and his Bobcat T650 compact track loader they use for everything!

Last week, I was in Bobcaygeon interviewing Mike and Chris Barr, owners of Barr BMR, a local hardware, lumber, landscaping suupplies, and equipment rental store, for an upcoming Bobcat testimonial in the Equipment Journal.
Anyone you mention Barrs BMR who knows the store, you can count on hearing, "great store, friendly people." There is something always special about the small town, country people.
Make sure you read about how they say Kyle Chessman , their sales specialist, and owner Ryan Di Bello of really stepped up for them and why it was so important to them to get Bobcat R-series models.
Oh, and if you're from the area and need to rent equipment, they just got seven new Bobcat machines delivered and some attachments available for rent, so better reserve them now before the summer rush! 😉

On Monday, I had the pleasure of meeting with Zak Alfahady and Ammar Alshahrestani, co-owners of 2AZ Rentals & Supplies (Ammar Al-Towaiji, the 2nd A, in 2AZ was unable to attend) for the interview for an upcoming Bobcat testimonial in the Equipment Journal with their Bobcat sales specialist, from .
With 15 years of general contracting experience in low and high-rise construction and civil engineering background, these three young friends from university saw a need for Bobcat MT100 mini track loaders on-sites and that's where their own rental company story began and has since really taken off offering more than just two Bobcat MT100's, now eight Bobcat machines in less than two years plus lots of supplies, Bobcat attachments, dumpers, trailers, and a product you couldn't find anywhere in Mississauga but...you guessed it, you will have to read what that is in Bobcat testimonial in the Equipment Journal and how these three young men with lots of ambition have really grown their business and say they have nothing to lose, and all to gain and why did they say they wouldn't be where they are today without the help from Todd Gill, Bobcat of Toronto. Meeting Jeff Ronhaar, head coach, of was something else. His title gives you an indication of his personality. He has more energy than any person I have ever met. Jeff's Outdoor is a design/build landscaping company servicing the Golden Horseshoe area.

I can't wait for you to read about his great advice and how to have the best office environment which helps build a even better relationship with their customers for repeat business and referrals, and why this old-school Dutch, loyal, and happy man ended up changing his brand of machine to Bobcat machines and says he has a much better rapport with and service through Derek Brooker, Tom Morelli and Bobcat of Hamilton, then his previous dealership.

Just over a week ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Sigismondo (Jesse) Calabro, son of founder Carmelo Calabro of .valley_group, for an upcoming Bobcat testimonial in the Equipment Journal with their Bobcat sales specialist, from . Jesse eagerly wanted to get back to work, so he left me in capable hands with Aaron Beckett, equipment manager, and Emilio Caruso, general manager-construction, to finish the interview.

I had the pleasure of meeting Eduard Negodenko, owner of , on Tuesday, as I was interviewing him for an upcoming Bobcat testimonial in the Equipment Journal, for and Bobcat sales specialist . Eduard's new Bobcat machines were out working, so they are not in the shot with them.
Eduard, from age 16-18 years old, started his journey in the landscaping industry working part-time summer job. He learned a lot from that job. Including, he wanted bigger things for both himself and his customers. He has learned what to do and not do, "At Avanti, we are all about serving out customers." The Avant team takes great pride and passion in their landscape construction design and builds (as you can see by some of the pictures attached). They lay out everything for his customers. No surprises. That's why he appreciates Gino Cervo. Same service as he provides their customers. "Gino gets stuff done!"

I had a wonderful day today on site in Peterborough, getting to know Cody and Taylor from
These two started their company part-time in 2023 and by 2024 they incorporated RockSolid and working full-time. They are a testament to what hard work, planning, budgeting, and investing in themselves with intense branding/marketing, all within the first year, can make their business grow that much faster. With their branding, everyone knows who they are.
Unfortunately, their first machine from an auction was a dud. I love meeting and getting to know 3rd generation companies. Yesterday, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting with Richard Cupido (3rd gen), along with Derek Brooker, sales specialist , for the upcoming Bobcat testimonial in the April issue of the Equipment Journal. Richard and his wife, Kate, now own the family business, , carrying on Richard's grandfather, father, and uncles legacy. This spring, they will be celebrating their 50th Anniversary 🍾.
BPC specializes in installation, removing replacing and repairing courts, and running tracks in the Golden Horseshoe area, but has even built tennis courts in Halifax.
They recently just purchased these four Bobcat machines (3x T770 compact track loaders and 1x S770 skid-steer). These are their 12th Bobcat machine from Bobcat of Hamilton. To find out why they have been loyal to Bobcat, Bobcat of Hamilton, and why Bobcat machines have played a role in carrying on their success and high standards as a company, I can't wait for you to read more about what they do in the April issue. John Buist, Steve Filken, and Evan Flicks got a bit of training from Derek on machines while I was there, too. It was great hearing from them what they loved about operating Bobcat machines.

I had a wonderful afternoon getting to know Mike and Tanya Diehl, and their business, Construction Inc., out of Sebringville (Stratford) area, as I was interviewing Mike for an upcoming Bobcat testimonial in the Equipment Journal. MLD specializes in everything concrete for residential. Driveways, patios, porches, sidewalks, steps, and all the fun stuff for the backyard since 2003.
To find out why Mike feels Bobcat machines are just like concrete, strong, bonded, and the most widely used, you have to read about it in an upcoming issue in March in the Equipment Journal. Also, why it was an easy transition from his current Bobcat dealership from where he first bought Bobcat from and feels Steve Brown, sales specialist, and are great to deal with!
On a side note, Tanya taught me something else new today. There is such a thing as Nature/Forest school where kids learn more life skills as well, out in nature. It's especially great for kids with ADHD. Wish I knew about that for my kids when they were young. They would have loved that! Maybe a great way to get them used to outdoors for later in trades, too. Thanks Mike, Tanya and Steve!

I spent the afternoon with Ben Van Manen, for the Bobcat testimonial that will be featured in Equipment Journal's 1st issue in January. I also had the pleasure of meeting R.V.M. Trucking founder, Ron, and the cutest employee, Lexi, who thinks she has the best seat in the shop, a Western Star seat.
R.V.M. specializes in custom homes, septic systems, and excavating, including site services, roads, sewer and watermains, etc. They were the first to have Stone slinger in the Norwich area.
Ben added two more Bobcat machines to their fleet, the T770 compact track loader, and the E88 compact excavator because of the incredible incentives Bobcat was offering. That and because of the great service, their Bobcat sales specialist, ,
