Happy Thanksgiving, eh!

It’s Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada - It could not have come at a better time because I was burning out, y’all! I hope even if you don’t have the day off today, you were able to take some time just for YOU this weekend.

In other news, here are some photos of the new collection I’m working on that’s sort of an alternative take on swirling autumnal colours. These are post-bake, pre-sanding, and I used the wonderful cutters I got last week because I love shopping small in Ontario! I made arches so I feel like a real clay earring maker now 😂.

It’s my mama’s birthday today, and even though we didn’t get to celebrate Thanksgiving together this year, and I’m excited for a distanced visit today and to give her her presents (which are earrings, obviously - She picked her favourite pairs from the Moody Vibes collection 🥰).

Things that are constant:

Change and sunsets.

I don’t like change, but I do like sunsets, so I guess creating this piece for a friend was something of a reminder/lesson to me - one of the reasons I LOVE hand lettering and making art for others: it always teaches me something to hear what words are important to others.

Plus, by way of curb-side pick-up, I got to see one of my BFFs FINALLY - it was so nice to see her lovely face!

A change I am ready for, however, is a break from this heatwave. Since driveway visits are still a thing, I could use *a little* less Ontario humidity.

Think back to early March and how many old ways we’ve had to let go of because of COVID.

I’ve had to try to let go of some pretty weird expectations that I’ve always held for myself because of this pandemic, and the changes it has made in our world. In my world.

There’s been no time to try to be perfect at anything because everything has been changing constantly, even now.

It’s been a good reminder of this quote, which I have framed in my regular office, but really should have hanging in every room in my house too, lol.

Just be good. Just live life. Just enjoy.
