THE SHOW:
Western Voice is an annual, student-run singing competition held at Western University. The one-night show is divided into two rounds:
1st round: All ten Western Voice contestants perform 1-2 minutes of a chosen song. After the ten contestants have performed, the audience votes for their favourite 5 contestants to move onto the second round.
2nd round: The top three contestants fully
perform a different song. The three Western Voice judges choose an overall winner. A portion of our proceeds is also donated to a charity - this year's charity is UNICEF. GUEST STAR:
Each year we invite a famous YouTube artist to guest star at Western Voice. This YouTube artist performs at Western Voice and helps judge the contestants. Past guest stars include AJ Rafael, Joseph Vincent, and Clara C. THE WESTERN VOICE EXPERIENCE:
Western Voice prides itself on creating the "Western Voice experience" for its contestants. Over 100 people audition in October to secure one of the 10 contestant spots. Throughout the months of November and December, Western Voice contestants take part in a photo shoot, film high-quality music videos, and record songs with the CHRW radio station.
