A day on the Mekong 📸 - here are the best 5 photos from day 4 in Vietnam

I got to help me with a caption - trying to get her to add some voice over in the next Vlog!

Ash - “After exploring the heavy history of the cu chi tunnels we took a leisurely sampan boat (1) ride down the Mekong delta.

(2 & 3) locals killing time on their own boats, possibly waiting to take the next batch of tourists down the river, I can just imagine the stories that man has to tell.

(4) dock dogs! They live on the floating fishing village

(5) banjo tunes

I just can’t say enough good about the Vietnamese people we met, so resilient, resourceful and welcoming to all.

I think the western world could really learn a thing or two from ‘nam!

Party Street, Ho Chi Minh City. Midnight.

Music blasting from every direction, live bands fighting for attention.

Drunk tourists stumbling past. Lights flashing.

The kind of chaos that makes the whole place feel alive.
And then - right in the middle of it… her.

A young local girl, sitting on the pavement, feeding a baby like it was just another night.

Because for her, it probably was.

No hesitation, no urgency - just life moving forward while the city raged around her.

And it’s not like this is some once-in-a-lifetime scene. There are a million scenarios just like it.

But for whatever reason, this one stuck with me.

Some photos just happen.

We were ripping through the chaos of a .experience food tour, surrounded by what felt like billions of scooters flying by in every direction.

I was holding on for dear life, cheeks FULLY clenched… probably wide-eyed under my helmet, trying to stay steady while also fumbling with my camera so I didn’t miss anything 😮‍💨

At this exact point, Ash turned back probably to check if I was still actually there lol… and in that exact second, I fired one off. 😜

Didn’t have time to look at it in the moment but when I got back to LR - I was pretty jacked.

It’s one of those photos where everything just lines up: the city lights, her glance back, the movement all around us, and then of course black and white never misses but… it just works.

It’ the perfect snapshot of the night.

This was our first real night in Vietnam, and it set the tone for the whole trip: a little chaotic, a little nerve-wracking, but mostly just so alive.

Travel baby. Game on.

No seat belts, no mirrors—just holding on, soaking it in, and occasionally looking back to see if we’re both still there.
