Mark Craney was an American drummer who played with various bands and artists, including:
- Tommy Bolin,
- Gino Vannelli,
- Jean-Luc Ponty, and
- Jethro Tull, etc
He was known for his technical proficiency and versatility as a drummer, and was widely respected by his peers.
Craney's most notable work was with the British Rock band Jethro Tull, with whom he was from June 1980 to May 1981, on their 13th album A (1980) and its following tour.
Sadly, Mark Craney passed away of complications from diabetes and pneumonia on November 26, 2005 in Sherman Oaks, CA, at the age of 53. He was born on August 26, 1952 in Minneapolis, MN.
