On July 10, ’s first Boeing 737-800 arrived in Whitehorse, Yukon, after being ferried from Kelowna, B.C., by captains Evan Coty and Ryan Kinney. This 737-800 is the first of two, and marks a major fleet upgrade for the airline.

The new aircraft features some notable changes to the Air North livery. Painted below the cockpit windows are the words “Jidii nakhwats’oo gogwijiłcheii nakhwadrii ts’at tr’agwanah’in,” which is Gwich’in for “Vision the heart sees.”

The airline’s well-known midnight sun orange tail now includes a caribou, which has served as a symbol of survival, pride and strength for the Vuntut Gwitchin for thousands of years.

Air North will be sharing details about its first scheduled flight with this new aircraft soon!

Thanks to photographer , who was on the airfield to capture this exciting arrival.

The moment you've all been waiting for!

The 2024 issue of RCAF Today is now available on our website, and it’s packed with tons of content as we celebrate the Royal Canadian Air Force’s 100th anniversary.

In this issue, we look back at the RCAF’s history, and look ahead to the RCAF of tomorrow. We chat with the only pilot currently flying a fifth-gen fighter; explore how the CF-35A will shape the entire Canadian Armed Forces; and take a closer look at the incoming MQ-9B SkyGuardian, the P-8 Poseidon, and other new and upgraded platforms.

We hear from the air task force responsible for airlifting equipment and supplies to support Ukraine, and speak with the personnel at 12 Wing Shearwater who are flying the CH-148 Cyclone. All this and so much more!
