Trinette: 'Spirit of Winter' coming soon to Downtown Kingston ❄️

Don’t miss the enchanting opening ceremony of Spirit of Winter! ❄✨ Join us on Saturday February 1st at 6:15pm and be one of the first to see the Indigenous story 'The Bear in Me' come to life across the historic limestone buildings surrounding Springer Market Square in downtown Kingston!

The evening begins with traditional greetings and a smudging ceremony by members of the Indigenous community, followed by remarks by Federal and Municipal leaders and heartfelt words from the artists of The Bear in Me.

Experience The Bear in Me story in English, French, Cree, and Ojibway and while you're here savor complimentary Indigenous-inspired cuisine and explore the grand opening of the Enchanted Forest! 🌲✨

Top it off with a skate under the stars (weather permitting), warm up by cozy fire pits, and delight in free horse-drawn wagon rides for a magical winter evening to remember.

🌟 Enjoy Spirit of Winter nightly from Feb 1st to 17th, 6:00 pm to 10:00pm. Learn more at downtownkingston.ca/spiritofwinter

This event is produced by the Downtown Kingston BIA, and made possible by a generous grant from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario's Tourism Growth Program, and support from City of Kingston, Tourism Kingston, and Kingston Accommodation Partners.

Trinette: ⛸️ Friendly reminder from City of Kingston that there are 17 outdoor rinks located in parks around Kingston that are both free and fun to skate on 😊

Find one near you today at: https://www.cityofkingston.ca/activities-and-recreation/facilities-and-rentals/arenas-and-rinks/outdoor-rinks-map-and-status/

NO SKATING!! Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area , owned and managed by Cataraqui Conservation , has not hosted its skating rink for six years. Due to inconsistent winter temperatures, the ice is rarely safe for walking, let along skating/hockey, and both barriers and warning signs have been posted to discourage folks from arbitrarily choosing to go out on the ice. So PLEASE, stay off the ice, stick to the trails, and perhaps enjoy some cross-country skiing or snowshoeing instead (conditions permitting.)
