Received some very sad news yesterday that my friend Dan Goldberg passed. He was a rare breed in our hard industry that gave so much back of his experience, knowledge and time to emerging talent and as a mentor helped me grow creatively and professionally. I had the pleasure to have him on my board and know that he touched some of you here through initiatives we launched like CBC ComedyCoup. I am still processing the news as we just spoke a few weeks back as he was giving me great feedback on the edit of B2F’s newest film. My deepest condolences to his wife Ilona, family and friends. Jason Reitman gives a perfect tribute of this Canadian entertainment legend - as I am sure he touched many of you through his work as he did me growing up. Aspirational as a creator in our country of what is possible and a comedy hero. Truly the kindest, gentlest and bravest of men... As Jason encourages, a great way to remember this mensch is by enjoying one of his films.... Thanks for all of the great laughs Danny!

Director, producer and screenwriter Jason Reitman, son of director Ivan Reitman, is paying tribute to his late father’s dear friend, writer-producer Daniel Goldberg, who died today at 74. Gol…

KINGSTON and area ACTORS! Check this out! Auditioning made easy! So helpful in building our hyper-local network of talent!😎

Here’s some INFO ⭐️
That's right all you actors and aspiring actors in Kingston! You heard me correctly. No more driving to Toronto, Ottawa, or Montreal for a casting call! No more driving to Toronto, Ottawa, or Montreal for a callback! In fact, you will only need to drive to Toronto, Ottawa, or Montreal to shoot and get your cheque!

Everything now is 'ONLINE' using self-tapes and Zoom online face-to-face auditions. All you need to do is work at becoming a more experienced actor AND get an agent, something we can help you with when you're ready.

The actor's training workshop is where you work with other actors to learn the acting craft. It's the rehearsal time you need to prepare for your online auditions. It's just not a good strategy to sit and wait without somewhat extensive rehearsal for a casting call. Nonetheless, as in life, your education is only impeded by the shallowness of the resources you have available to you. Acting is demanding. It requires a devotion greater than the norm. But personal results can be truly inspiring.

At Backto1's you can take the first workshop of 4-consecutive Tuesday nights FREE and therefore get a better understanding of how we may support you with your passion for acting. Training to be an actor is not easy work.

For more details, go to www.backto1s.art to register, see what is required, and read about the exciting developments in the film acting world in Kingston. Hope to see you in class.

Our next workshop begins Tuesday Evening April 25, 2023.m

Have you ever dreamed of becoming an actor? Well if you live in Kingston, this is your chance.

We're Branded to Film, a Film & Television Production company based in Kingston Ontario. We are putting stakes into the ground here because of the potential that the Kingston/Frontenac area has to become Ontario's next powerhouse Production destination for Canadian Producers.

There is a gap in the market - a need for capacity - in skilled workers and infrastructure. We - at B2F - believe that over the next ten years, if our community works together, we can collectively build a $100M Film & Production centre in Kingston.

To key to achieving this - as a community and industry - is to work towards a common goal of building and training a local, sustainable workforce.

A sustainable workforce means having a continuous pipeline of content to provide a continuous flow of jobs needed to train, mentor, establish and attract the people and resources required to build a Made-in-Kingston production ecosystem.

We believe that the Kingston/Frontenac region, anchored in the city of Kingston, is a perfect location to establish Ontario's next great production Hub. Its physical location - off the 401 - between Toronto, Montreal & Ottawa, an easy drive to the United States - to New York and Boston - make it highly accessible and a natural integration.

The area's physical diversity - natural landscapes, World Heritage, Historical and Institutional sites, its mix of architecture provide a rich, untapped canvas to work with.

We have economic conditions that make expansion to Kingston not only viable, but a needed driver in Ontario, across the country and beyond.

Current production centres in Ontario and elsewhere and already oversubscribed with demand for infrastructure outpacing both supply and growth. satiate the demand for cost efficient, smaller budget productions currently being driven out of the marketplace.

All three levels of government are working together to execute on a vision of bringing economic diversity and opportunity to the Kingston/Frontenac area through Film & Television production , not as a cultural industry as has traditionally been the government and industry's view, but as a manufacturing industry.

Consider that Ontario's Film & Television Production Industry is on course to grow to $5.8 Billion dollars in revenue by 2028. I

If you look at a piece of content as a manufactured product - with numerous skills, services and personal required to produce it from start to finish along the manufacturing process - from ideation, to financing, publicity and marketing, production, editing and servicing each individual step in the process, hundreds of people are involved - just like a physical object - such as a car - except our product is Television & Movies and it is delivered digitally, to a global audience, through streaming and subscription services.

We have a two phase plan to grow the industry in Kingston/Frontenac to $100M over ten years - It is a classic chicken and egg situation. You can't build a skilled workforce without having work to work on. We need real stories to make, real films to work on and learn from in order to build an industry Kingston.

You start small and build your capabilities. You mentor and train. You add services and capabilities. You do this over and over until you can stand on your own two feet. You can attract bigger jobs. You attract talent. You become a destination. B2f has a ten film production slate - half funded - to create out of Kingston from start to finish. we're going to train crew. Build a studio and do it over and over until we are standing on our own two feet.

We want to make a home and attract smaller budget producers, specifically Canadian Producers, who have been forced out of current production centres - victims of the industry’s own success.

Phase one is producing ten films over 3-4 years here in Kingston. Identifying and training key personnel and building the foundations for a sustainable industry.

Phase two is concurrent. Building out permanent infrastructure - a Film Production Studio - in Kingston. This will act as a further catalyst - attracting outside productions, to continue and build upon the workflow needed to establish a sustainable industry and workforce.

Our team consists of a diverse range of national, international and local investors - united in building out the film and tv Production capabilities of K/F to reach 100M over the next ten years - a goal that the city of Victoria was able to achieve in under ten years.

We would like to introduce to you - Den Mother Crimson - our first $1M feature film, entirely shot and produced in Kingston. It is not just a proof of concept to what we call our Hyper-Local Film production model, but the beginning of a Made In Kingston approach to growing and diversifying our economy beyond its traditional boundaries.

B2F is building a chance to keep our youth in the area. A chance to build a stronger future. A chance to prove and demonstrate that we can make and deliver a high quality product in Kingston.
