Accelerating revenue collection such reforms include the war on graft, rationalizing the tax system, enhancing transparency in the mining sector, and freely providing beneficial ownership information for awarded government contracts.
However, the lender wants Kinshasa to accelerate revenue collection and contain current spending in efforts to “build fiscal space to address the security situation”, among other reforms in public financial management.

Now, with this latest action by FATF, Nigeria risks being blacklisted by global financial bodies, according to the Center for Financial Surveillance and Illicit Transaction Tracking Group (CSITT).
It takes from two to five years for countries in the gray list to address the issues and deficiencies that put them on the list, and be taken off the list after the mandatory requirements are affirmed by FATF.

East Africa’s biggest and most advanced economy relying on aid to feed itself may sound surprising, but the need is very real. An estimated 2.5 million Kenyans are currently facing starvation, almost a million more than in May, fueled by drought.

The underlying problem is a failing agriculture sector. Kenya’s reliance on external markets is growing, having already spent a billion dollars on food imports this year and the country is not alone.

Chinese loan finance is varied. Some government loans qualify as "official development aid." But other Chinese loans are export credits, suppliers' credits, or commercial, not concessional in nature. China is not Africa's largest "donor". That honor still belongs to the United States.
