Thanks to everyone who came out to the Elbows Up Canada event or shared kind words after. It was a powerful experience being part of something that aimed to bring Canadians together, especially in times that can feel so divided.
This event wasn’t about politics — it was about community, unity, and the things we all share: music, stories, and a love for this country.
I know not everyone will see things the same way, and that’s okay. But I hope we can keep talking to each other with respect, keep listening, and keep building each other up. We’re stronger when we stand side by side — not toe to toe. 🇨🇦 - J.

Wow! Another great night with these two amazing artists! What a pleasure to share the stage with JP Cormier and Catherine MacLellan.
Thanks to the wonderful audience and kind staff and crew at the Capitol Theatre in North Bay. Hope to see you all again soon.

The Moment America Abandoned The West

We are just over halfway through the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise, and it’s been amazing re-connecting with some wonderful old friends. Pictured here with me is Ronnie Baker Brooks, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and Wayne Baker Brooks. Ronnie and I go back a long way. Ronnie is a true ambassador and connector of people in the best way. His father of course was the great Lonnie Brooks. Ronnie’s brother Wayne is playing as well and it was great to get to meet him. So great to see Coco Montoya again. He and I go back a fairly long way to when he was a member of Albert Collin’s band. Back then they would occasionally get me up to play. Great memories. I’m enjoying all the bands on the cruise. The amount of talent this year is pretty staggering; California Honey Drops, Taj Mahal and the Phantom Blues Band, Ruthie Foster and her fabulous band, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and my fellow Canadian Sue Foley who is nominated for a Grammy this year, as is the ultra talented Ruthie Foster, just to name a few. Congrats to Taj Mahal on a Grammy lifetime achievement award as well. What a great way to get back at it after those months of recovery. Can’t wait to start the Canadian tour in Ottawa next week!
