Late 90's MPlayer anybody?
Firstly, you didn't have to be a gamer to have fun with this and its voice chat feature. Oh... and the Lobby Mic hack.
If you opened 6 or 8 Internet Explorer windows, you could bog down a Pentium 166 enough to make the app "hang" on your way back to the lobby from a mic chat room thus maintaining the Mic button while actually being in the lobby... They you drop some cuts of Disco Duck or some other pain-in-the-ass song to like a thousand people. Ah, the days of internet jackass pioneering!

MODERN CARTOONS! In your opinion...
What are some examples of post-2010 cartoons that could fit almost seamlessly into a 1987 Saturday morning programming line-up?
Consider animation colour palette, theme, content, plots, feel, everything.
And MAYBE. If I feel up to it, we'll give them a 4:3 crop treatment, actually record some clips to VHS we'll give them a run on a tube-tv in front of a wood paneled wall and see how they vibe with it. And record the whole works with a camcorder of an 80's or 90's vintage...
In effect, we'll put those cartoons into the past to see how they roll.

Cassette tapes are making a comeback. In my world, they never left. Do you have any? Would you buy music this way today?

I like them. They're handy and they work well and they were always the cheaper way to buy an album often times being 5, 10 or even 15 dollars cheaper than their CD or LP counterparts likely because artists could produce a tape at about the cost of a dollar.

One of the common things I hear are "tapes sound terrible" which isn't true... tape is just a storage medium... it stores what is intended but the retrieval is another matter. They are however very dependent on many factors all coming together in harmony in order to produce the desired sound. Tape alignment, head alignment, tension, speed, head cleanliness, etc. A clean, aligned, quality tape deck sounds awesome!

In a digital world I question the return of a physical medium especially to people young enough to have never really known anything but digital. You people fascinate me, I like you people.
It is rare for me to buy audio tapes now unless it's for the channel, same with records, I never buy CDs at all. I do have lots of all 3.
