12 years ago yesterday I had the incredible privilege of performing for Scott and Carolyn Rivers. I’ll always remember her incredible smile, energy, calm and the love they shared that day. 500+ weddings later I still hope every couple is just like them.

I remember her telling me she wanted to do a little choreographed dance with her bridesmaids. Because of her trust in me, we created a YouTube with over a millions views!

My brides go on to do incredible things! From starting a family and watching their children grow to empowering other women, it’s obvious there is no greater purpose than looking after each other. Alicia Woods, CEO of Covergalls, has done so much for women in the mining industry. I currently have a contract with Fraser Mine that is safety related so I see her handiwork every day!

Pushing Through

I waited for them to cross the parking lot at my favourite coffee shop as she slowly escorted him and his cane, saved a table for them and stood behind her at the cash.

"Is that your hot date?" I said gesturing to her husband taking off his big fur hat.

She looked back at him and said "Oh yes" with a smile her face said she had been using for many decades.

"If you don't mind me asking, how long have you been married?".

Proudly she said "65 years!".

Can you imagine? They got married when she was 17 years old! Paul Anka was singing about my friend's mother 'Diana', the hula hoop was giving chiropractors a reason to get up in the morning and Elizabeth Taylor personified the word 'icon'.

If that wasn't testament enough I followed with "If you could go back 66 years what would you tell that young woman about the future she was going to have?"

It's a profound question so she took a moment and I watched her glance back at her husband patiently waiting for his coffee as the smile slipped from her face. "You have to push through." she said. "It's not easy. You both have to push through."

Thirty minutes later they took the methodical journey back to the car. They were still pushing through.

My Spiderman Wedding! A couple should never have to worry what other people think or what other people do at other weddings. It’s THEIR wedding! Do what you need to do to feel like a bride or groom. Just celebrate your relationship. 🙏

Sarah and Brendan White tied the knot September 22 2018. I loved their attention to personalization. They included words from Dr. Seuss in their vows, a padlock that they closed during the ceremony and then threw the keys into the lake! We had a lot of speeches, which can be a challenge, but handled them with strict time limits and hiding them in between courses. The party was off the hook! Ever feel like you are being watched? This was taken at the Hacienda Bed and Breakfast in Hanmer. Its a pleasant surprise when you walk in and begin to discover the hidden and not so hidden details. The owner was great to deal with and very accommodating. Art and Pauline tied the knot December 29 2018 in front of a few family and friends. Large or small, a wedding's purpose is to celebrate love which they did in this intimate setting and I was honoured to be there!

Absolute Weddings = Absolutely Perfect! Bill goes above and beyond to ensure everything is amazing. It's almost like attending your own wedding as he has everything covered. We were told that it was the best wedding our guests ever attended. He kept our guests involved and always wondering what surprises were around the corner. Not to mention kept the dance floor going until the lights came on. If you are lucky enough to book Absolute Weddings just wait and see how amazed you will be with the entire event! My favourite part was the extra work he did before the day to write our love story and make our mash up song for our first dance. He asks you questions about both the bride and groom and then writes a love story where you come from and how you met and it was more than we could've ever imagined!
