✨ Introducing… Tara Pelletier-Silas ✨
I am humbled and beyond thrilled to have this platform to share my experiences alongside my sister-in-law with all of you. I’m overwhelmed with the amount of support we’ve received so far and we appreciate your patience for our first episode to air as we build our platform, so thank you to each one of you! 🥰
With that being said, a little about this mama with some trauma; I’m 31 years old, living in my small home town of Dalhousie, New Brunswick. I’m married to my best friend of 8.5 years and we have a busy, brave, and beautiful almost-9-month-old daughter. We also have a German Shorthaired Pointer named Moose 🐶. When I finish my mat leave in May (🥲), I will return to my career and passion as a Child Protection Social Worker. On the side, I am a network leader with the New Brunswick Youth in Care Network and Partners for Youth (we can be found on Facebook). Although I’m still trying to balance my personal identity with being a mother- the things I enjoy doing are literally anything outdoors from camping, hiking, kayaking, waterfall chasing, and just being by the water. I also love to read, practice yoga and meditation, and will binge any and all crime/murder/mystery series on Netflix.
I started really thinking about doing a podcast once I became more comfortable with sharing my truth- mostly through therapy and venting with my partner and close friends/family. I felt I should use my non-filtered rants for something bigger and that maybe I could resonate with a lot of other women out there. I want to shake up the narrative on motherhood and stray away from the edited and unspoken truths.
Before becoming a mother I already had PTSD and generalized anxiety disorder- with my journey of having a miscarriage, trying to conceive, a dreadful pregnancy, a traumatic birth, and then postpartum depression and anxiety, I really felt it was important to not hide my struggles but to share my vulnerability in the hopes of helping others.
We have some exciting things coming up so make sure to follow and like our Instagram and page! We will release more information soon on where to find our first episode 🙊
