As a employee of Vancouver Island Community Connections as the Self Advocate Liaison, here are ways we are ensuring safety of ourselves and others here in the community: 1. Social distancing is to maintained, whenever and wherever possible.
2. VICC team members are required to don masks and wash their hands for a minimum of 20 seconds upon arrival at their designated worksites.
3. All VICC team members are to refrain from touching their faces and are required to cover their mouth and to sneeze into the crook of their arm or use a tissue.
4. Finally, all VICC team members and the persons served that they support are required to stay home if they are sick to eliminate the possibility of a community outbreak. Any VICC team member or person served who reports to a worksite and appears to be ill will immediately be sent home.
These are the necessary precautions being taken and can be applied in our Private/Personal lives as well. I want to wish that all Persons Served, Family Members and Friends are well thought of in these times as we transition back to work or adjusting with mental/emotional/spiritual changes. Treat each other with Kindness, Respect and Love and know that you all matter and mean something to someone. Stay Strong, Stay Positive.
