One of our favourite characters and storylines.

Bernice is playing snowballs with Ethan when she runs in to ask Papa Bear if she can play outside for a bit longer before coming in. When she gets inside, she is soaking wet, so she gets dried off, changes her clothes, and settles down to talk to Papa Bear about her day at school. Papa Bear and Bernice talk about her day and the things that happened, and then Bernice says she has a problem….

In this story, we focus on appearances and how it's okay to dress and look differently than others. And how we accept and love others for who they are.

As with most Bernice and Papa Bear stories, there are also lots of cookies and treats.

The Green Ivy is a small plant that is growing on the edge of a rough, red ditch with a tiny fig tree. The fig tree sees all the ugly around them but the Ivy thinks it looks beautiful and talks about how she is going to help to make things more beautiful. Flop Ear is back in Chapter 3 and he has found some cabbage that he would like to share with his family. He is nibbling on some tender, green leaves when he hears a barking sound. Flop Ear looks around to see which way he should run as the dog quickly comes closer. The dog is very friendly and they have a nice chat.
