Hey everyone!
Season 5 of the Bloodbath league is in full swing and as we did last season, we have some pre-season rankings!
Pre-season rankings
1. Hellbrecht’s Petting Zoo - this team retains 2/3 of the XPZ team that won last season in Hamza and and Fil. Hamza has proven to be a menace with his Drukhari and Fil should go from a consistent points scorer to a big points scorer with the arrival of the new Orks dex. The team is rounded off by Adrien who has been on a tear recently with his BT and Wes, who has been away from the hobby for the last year, but should be a consistent points scorer for his team with his Nids! This team is just barely out favourites to win the league!
2. 3 Kings and Weeg Wings - this team contains the third member of the XPZ team that won last season with Mike and his Tau! He is joined by some of Bloodbath’s best with Zach on his Sisters, Mitch on his CK and Luc who is playing a brand new army with his GSC! All 4 of these players recently played Bloodbath’s top team and will certainly be some of the favourites heading into the season!
3. Dad-Hammer - the team that finished second last season has kept its full 3-man roster. Kyle and Jake were last season’s two highest individual performers. Kyle is returning with his Golden boys and although not as menacing now they will still be a threat in the hands of a faction master like Kyle. Jake is bringing his T Sons this time, an army that can put up devastating performances with the right pilot. Jakeb is playing a nasty NDK GK list this time around and the team is rounded off with a DA ironstorm list piloted by John! This team will certainly be one of the favourites to win it all.
4. Toilet Dice - this team is spearheaded by Marco on his Orks and C**t on his tau. These two young, hungry players have recently bursted onto our local scene with great results to show for it! This team adds Tyler on his WE and Jeff on his DG. Tyler has proven to be a player who can get massive wins if given the right matchups and Jeff offers a solid defender army to their team with his DG. This team will be one to watch out for and a team looking to crack the podium this season!
5. Chimera - this team is comprised of three first-time league participants and is also completely comprised of staff from Chimera Gaming! This team is chalked full of good generals piloting armies that perform super well in teams. The team has a great foundation of TJ and Will, playing DG and sisters, armies known for being able to keep any game close. The team is then rounded off with a monster mash demons list piloted by James and the dreaded Bully Boyz piloted by Andrew, both armies that can push for big wins if given the right matchups!
6. Crimson Crusaders - this squad is captained by local legend Mark Pepper and his Nids. Akash is joining Mark once again and will likely be depended upon as this team’s star player. Akash will be on the WE this time around, however he has shown his dominance with melee armies recently after a good stretch with his Custodes. The team is rounded off by Matt who is normally known for his IK, although he will be playing some different robots this time with the necrons and Frank on his salamanders who is a newcomer to the league and a relatively unknown quantity.
7. MMTA - this team is captained by none other than the giga chad himself, Lloyd on his CSM! Lloyd has been known for playing for Bloodbath teams in the past and is an absolute killer. His team of London boys consisting of Andrew on BT, Matthew on Necrons and Robert on DG are a relatively unknown quantity. With a stellar line up of armies we look forward to seeing what this team can do.
8. Four Blind Grots - these boys entered on the scene last league and surprised everyone by finishing in the top half with a 3-2 record. The trio of Darren on marines, Gregory on DG and William on Tau stays the same and they will be adding their good friend Zac to the team with his Orks. This is definitely a solid roster that we expect to see finish towards the middle of the pack.
9. The Scraps - as the name suggests this is a team of leftover players but don’t let that fool you as this team still packs a punch. Spearheaded by Eric on his tau and Cam on his demons this team can pack a punch. With Seth on SW and Tom on Necrons rounding out the team this team has lots of potential, especially if the pairings go their way.
10. Warhamsters - this team offers a full roster of players who you will usually find banging out in the mid tables. David on Orks and Andrew on GK are both making their return to the league. They are joined by Matt “Dockin” Dawkins running DG and Adam on his Tau. All 4 players on this team give some of the most enjoyable games and all their opponents are in for a great time.
11. Scotch - while not fielding the same powerful roster as last season, the Scotch boys still have a squad that will need to be respected. The team is captained by Martin and his nasty Ironstorm list. He is joined by Austin on his Custodes, Terry playing Necrons and Grant’s DG. This team has a good foundation of consistent point scoring armies with the Necrons and DG combined with the Custodes and Ironstorm which can pull big wins if given the right matchup!
12. Redacted - similar to the Scotch boys, the redacted team offers a solid foundation with captain Ryan on his Necrons and Darcy playing his DG. The team is rounded out with Stevan, playing an aggressive tau list and James, playing an elite style SW list. Other than Ryan, these players are all brand new to the league and we look forward to seeing where they end up!
13. Average Joes - last season’s runner-up for favourite opponent are back with the same team! The team consists of captain Scott playing a nasty Ironstorm list. He is joined by Juan playing T Sons, Andrew on Necrons and newcomer to the league Kyle, playing DG. These boys always offer some of the most enjoyable games of warhammer and their opponents should look forward to some great games!
14. Fluff Rakes - Last season’s spoon winners kept their full roster. This team is led by the legendary Swagmando on his Votan joined again by Dameon playing IK and Toran playing CK. The team is rounded out by Brian playing his Guard. This team brings a high toughness armour skew that will certainly catch some teams off guard. Will they finish last again this season? We don’t think so but only time will tell!
15. The Lucky Ones - This is a brand new team to the league, consisting of a group that play out if the Gamebridge store. The team is captained by Jacob and his CSM. He is joined by Neil playing Guard, Rocco (best name in the league) on SW and Terry on Aeldari. This team is a completely unknown quantity and could potentially upset some higher ranked teams!
16. Unforeseen Union - these boys are our favourites to win the spoons! This is a rag tag team of mercenary players who are here to have fun and roll dice! The team is captained by Mike playing his CSM. He is joined by Dale on GK, Clark playing SW and Shawn on Orks. While not expected to pick up many wins we are sure that these boys will only get better as the league progresses!
