Alberta rockers Striker kicked off the Shredding North America Tour earlier this month alongside Seven Kingdoms and Lutharo, and they’re ready to take the stage at Dickens on Monday, Nov. 25. Formed in Edmonton in 2007, Striker combines heavy metal, hard rock, and 80’s hair metal. Pacey Strangling Wolf minutes after being Crowned Calgary Stampede 2025 First Nations Princess. That's one finding of Gloria Perez-Rivera, an assistant professor of anthropology at Mount Royal University, who has done a lot of research on illegal economies. “What I would like people to understand is that half of the world lives from these things we call illegal economies,” said Perez-Rivera....

For almost three decades, Mount Royal University has honoured Indigenous culture through its annual powwow, which was held this year on Saturday Nov. 2. The powwow’s roots trace back to a student initiative led by the directions lodge, a club within the students’ association that no longer exists.
