"It is possible in Serengeti Park to stand on a hill and see thousands of antelope and zebra as far as the horizon during migration times. The lions, of course, follow these herds. This lioness is shown at rest, satisfied by the magnificent world she lives in." ~ Robert Bateman

We know, surveys can feel like just another task on your list. But the CREATIVE PATHWAYS SURVEY is different - it’s designed to capture your unique experiences and the real challenges impacting artists today. In just 10–12 minutes, your honest input will help us develop resources and programs that truly support artists’ careers and well-being.

This is your chance to share what’s really affecting you—anonymously and directly. With your voice, we can build a foundation that reflects the realities of the creative life and supports meaningful change in the art community.

ATTENTION ALL ARTISTS: SHARE YOUR VOICE
We’ve recently launched our CREATIVE PATHWAYS SURVEY in order to capture the real experiences, challenges, and needs of artists today. In order to support and promote artist careers we really need to understand the impact all the changes in the art world are having on you personally and professionally. It’s confidential; requires just 10-12 minutes of your time; and will help us build a solid base of research data to support our arts community.

If you’re an artist, we’d love to hear from you! Your insights will help shape future resources and programs that respond directly to the realities of being a creative professional today. Please take a few minutes to share your perspective by completing the CREATIVE PATHWAYS SURVEY here: https://conta.cc/3YHTEtK

For gallery owners, arts organizations, and other supporters, we would greatly appreciate it if you could pass this survey along to the artists in your network. By sharing this initiative, you’re helping us reach more voices and build a stronger, more informed community.

Thank you for being a part of this journey with us!
Warm regards,
Debra Usher, Editor-in-Chief

Artwork of the Day - "The Wary One" - Oil by Bruce Lawes. Honorable Mention Award Winner

Artist Statement: "My painting, 'The Wary one', depicts a Grey Wolf. She is nestled in the crisp Autumn leaves that echoes the colors in her soft coat. She appears very docile but is always wary of her surroundings. Although she is alone in my painting the Grey wolf is a very social animal and will have a large family with a hierarchy that is established very early on. The Grey wolf's stare is striking as she seems to be looking right through you. She is always assessing whether you are friend, foe, or food."

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: PHILIP BUYTENDORP
Born into a family of creatives, Philip Buytendorp’s artistic journey started early - surrounded by his father’s renowned paintings and his mother’s pottery experiments. Inspired by the natural beauty of Canada, Philip’s landscape paintings reflect the rugged coastlines and dramatic skies of British Columbia. From growing up in an art-filled home to becoming a full-time landscape painter, Philip’s dedication to his craft is undeniable. His vivid works capture fleeting moments in nature, portraying the unique interplay of light and color. Philip’s advice to aspiring artists? "Master your tools, keep practicing, and immerse yourself in nature’s beauty. Success will come in time."

She has been such a joy to draw with all those rich reds and oranges, making me feel extra autumnal 😍🍁
I'd love to hear what you all think of her? The third Welsh cob will be drawn to the left of her next
