We have so many friends in Los Angeles and so sad about the devastation that we are seeing going on there. If you are able to help, please consider donating.

My heart breaks a little more each day for the terrible tragedy of the fires in LA this past week. There are so many people affected by this who have impacted my own life in ways large and small. The scale and the effect of what is happening to them and to so many others is beyond words.

If you are one of those who have been affected or whose family or loved ones have been affected, please know that my heart's prayers are with you right now.

For anyone looking for ways to help, I will share that the charity I chose to donate to was .

For those who write, don't stop—because storytelling is never a frivolous pursuit in times like these. The stories we tell matter. They tell us who we are, how we will face our darkest tragedies, and who we will become as we rise from the ashes.
