A German hamster is beating investors at their own game.

Since June, a hamster named Mr. Goxx has been running an independent portfolio that trades cryptocurrency from a high-tech cage called the Goxx Box. His portfolio has a wide range of cryptocurrencies, including TRON, Ethereum and Bitcoin.

Mr. Goxx's trading sessions are livestreamed on Twitch. First, the hamster runs on an "intention wheel," which spins around and chooses a cryptocurrency. Then, it scampers through either a "buy" tunnel or a "sell" tunnel, triggering purchases or sales of roughly 20 euros worth of the cryptocurrency.

Mr. Goxx's human business partner, who presumably executes the trades, prefers to remain anonymous but posts the buy and sell orders on Twitter and Reddit. The hamster's "office hours" and crypto updates can be followed on its Twitch and Reddit page.

In an interview with the crypto website Protos, the human behind Mr. Goxx said that the crypto picks haven't yet been remunerative enough to pay for Mr. Goxx's high-tech digs, which include a desk set up with computer monitors made from wood.

As of Saturday, the hamster's performance was up more than 16% since it began trading in June, according to Protos data — an impressive feat for anyone, much less a rodent. Its returns are better than those for Bitcoin, the S&P 500 and Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway (BRKB).

Bitcoin and the S&P 500 have climbed about 14% and 5% respectively, over the same time period. Berkshire Hathaway B shares, meanwhile, have fallen by 2%. Mr. Buffett might want to invest in an intention wheel.

"Mr. Goxx is happy to see that some of his investments finally pay off," Mr. Goxx's human partner told Protos.

After an initial investment of a little more than 300 euros, or $390, Mr. Goxx had a profit of 54 euros on Sunday, or about $63.

However, that's down from a mid-September high, when Protos data showed the portfolio had risen almost 50%, to almost 500 euros. Bitcoin, the world's most actively traded cryptocurrency, was up just 41% over the same period of time.

Cardano price smashes all-time highs, ADA aims for another 20% climb.

Cardano price (ADA) has yet again recorded another all-time high at $2.84, as it continues to challenge previous records. ADA is headed for a 20% surge as the cryptocurrency proceeds by showing massive strength.

Cardano price eyes $3.36 next

Cardano price rallied to a new record high on August 23, claiming $2.84, showing no signs of slowing down. ADA is close to tagging the 127.2% Fibonacci extension level at $2.86, the next level to tackle before aiming higher.

Should Cardano price be able to slice above the aforementioned resistance level, ADA would be aiming for a 20% run toward the 161.8% Fibonacci extension level at $3.37.

While nearly 100% of ADA investors are now in profit, Cardano price seems to be rising in tandem with the increasingly positive sentiment in anticipation of the smart contracts launch in September.

The Alonzo hard fork will introduce a smart contract functionality that will allow the network to become a leading contender in the industry of programmable blockchains to expand the solutions it can offer its users.

The new functionality would even allow the incorporation of applications such as decentralized finance platforms. Cardano would be in a better position to challenge Ethereum, the leading blockchain in regards to smart contract functionality.

Five U.S. senators have been working with the Treasury Department and have come up with a compromise crypto amendment to the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill. “We’ve worked with the Treasury Department to clarify the underlying text and ensure that those who are not acting as brokers will not be subject to the bill’s reporting requirements.”

The U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs announced Monday that Senators Pat Toomey (R-Pa,) Mark Warner (D-Va.) Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.), Kyrsten Sinema (D-Az.), and Rob Portman (R-Oh.) have reached “an agreement on digital asset reporting requirements” in the infrastructure bill.

The announcement details:

We’ve worked with the Treasury Department to clarify the underlying text and ensure that those who are not acting as brokers will not be subject to the bill’s reporting requirements.

In the press conference held Monday on the subject, Senator Toomey explained that this compromise amendment is not a perfect solution, but it is “much better than the underlying text” currently in the bill.

Emphasizing that “crypto software developers, crypto transaction validators, node operators, and other non-brokers” are excluded, Toomey said:

Our solution makes clear that a broker means only those persons who conduct transactions on exchanges where consumers buy, sell, and trade digital assets.

Coin Center’s executive director, Jerry Brito, agrees that the compromise amendment “tightens the expanded definition of ‘broker’ sufficiently that it would be difficult to argue it covers protocol devs who only write and publish code,” adding that it also “has exemptions for validators and hardware/software wallet makers.”

Last week, two amendments to the crypto provisions in the infrastructure bill were introduced. One was sponsored by Senators Ron Wyden, Toomey, and Lummis. Wyden is the chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance. He has not signed on to the new compromise amendment but “he does agree that this is a big step in the right direction,” said Lummis.

MicroStrategy has announced an additional Bitcoin purchase to the tune of $489 million.

MicroStrategy has bought even more Bitcoin (BTC) despite the current price struggles for the largest crypto by market capitalization.

According to an announcement on Monday, the business intelligence firm purchase 13,005 BTC at an average price of $37,617 for a combined total of about $489 million.

Monday’s report takes MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin balance sheet north of the 100,000 mark with the firm now holding 105,085 BTC.

At the current BTC spot price, MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin holdings are worth $2.74 billion which amounts to an average of a little over $26,000 per Bitcoin.

Earlier in June, the firm had announced a $400 million debt raise to expand its Bitcoin treasury holdings.

Ether's value has been steadily rising over the past few weeks, thanks to major banks and businesses finding new uses for the Ethereum blockchain.

The recent surge also appears to have made Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin a billionaire. Buterin disclosed his main Ethereum address on Twitter in 2018.

On Monday, the address, listed on Etherscan, showed a balance of over 333,520 Ether, with the value of the wallet listed at just over $1 billion USD on the site.

Buterin first proposed Ethereum in 2013 and co-launched the project in 2015.
