A CHILD STONED TO DEATH BY A MAD MAN IN MOLEPOLOLE

Police in Molepolole are investigating a horrific case in which a mentally disturbed man aged 35 stoned a 5 year old cousin to death in Ntloedibe ward, Molepolole.

According to station commander Superintendent Jacob Molapong, the mentally disturbed man found the child with his grandmother. He asked for the child to go with him as he wanted to buy sweets.

He however changed his route and went to a nearby hill and stoned her. People who thronged the scene called the police and the minor was taken to Scottish Livingstone hospital. The badly injured child was immediately referred to Princess Marina hospital but succumbed to the injuries on the way. Police investigations are ongoing.

UPDATE: SUSPECT IN POLICE CUSTODY

Letlhakeng police have apprehended a distant relative of a 100 year old granny who burnt to death.

Superintendent Amos Kekgathetse said they are still investigating and have not taken him to court.

The man is linked to torching a house on Tuesday around 1 am in which the senior citizen was sleeping. As she had a bad sight, she could not escape.

Police said the lamp was not burning and there is no electricity connection thus they suspected foul play.

STUDENT DIE AFTER EATING A FAT CAKE

A standard 6 student at one of Molepolole Primary Schools was laid to rest over the weekend following a shocking incident in which it is alleged that she ate a fatcake offered by a relative.

According to a family relative the deceased vomited heavily on Sunday night and passed on the following day.

The child showed no sign of ill health prior to that.

Reached for comment, Molepolole station commander Superintendent Jacob Molapong said they did not receive any report from the family yet.
