SHAKAWE CREATIVES URGED TO UTILIZE DISTRICT FILM CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME

In the continued efforts to develop and uplift the film industry, The Film office under the Ministry of Youth,Gender,Sport and Culture held yet another stakeholder engagement meeting yesterday in Shakawe.

When welcoming stakeholders, Mr. Zibani Mazwiduma, Programmes Officer I at MYSC Seronga Satellite Office, highlighted that there is a lot of content which needs to be captured hence the need for creatives to utilize district film capacity building programme to develop the film industry.

Vice Chairperson of Creative Arts and Media Sector from Business Botswana, Mr. Prince Monna highlighted that poets and traditional song performers can also feature in films by producing music for the film production.

For his part, District Film Development Coordinator, Mr. Mandla Mogomotsi urged creatives to take responsibility for the growth of their craft. He further added that creatives should utilize streaming platforms like Youtube to enhance their skills which are essential for filmmaking.
