After SRC's of various institutions around the country pleaded with DTEF(the country student loan system) to increase there allowance due to the high cost of living, The department responded stating that there request has been approved and the new living allowance will be set to P2 220.00 effective starting January 27 2022.

This comes after the Minister of tertiary saw it fit to do so
