Our Story

Gyalchi Sarshog, a weekly private Dzongkha Newspaper published in full color that was launched on November 11, 2011. Although, several other Dzongkha newspapers emerged after the introduction of Parliamentary Democracy in the country, they have all been shelved and Gyalchi Sarshog is the only private Dzongkha newspaper that exists in the country.

Besides the dissemination of national and international news, the paper is more importantly aimed at promoting the National Language (Dzongkha) in its simple form as a backstopping to the efforts of the Royal Government to promote the language as our country’s core national identity. It also provides specific articles relating to our unique culture and religion in order to promote a better understanding of these subjects especially by the youths of our country.

Given the above background and your kind concern, we are confident that you will render your valuable support in terms of placing your advertisement in our paper to make it sustainable in the long run.
