Dr. Yezer assumed the position of the new Dean of Research and Industrial Linkages at Sherubtse College. The official handover ceremony occurred on February 17th, attended by the college president, DSA, staff members, and FINA executives. The event marked the beginning of Dr. Yezer’s new role, highlighting a substantial advancement in the college’s research and engagement efforts.

Sherubtse College held a mass cleaning program on February 17, 2024, spanning areas between Bodidrang and Khangma. Organized by the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs, the event is a tribute to His Majesty The King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck's 44th Birth Anniversary, emphasizing environmental responsibility.

Students and staff joined forces to collect litter and debris promoting community pride and environmental awareness. The initiative not only honored His Majesty's vision for a sustainable Bhutan but also aimed to maintain a healthy and beautiful learning environment.

Sherubtse emerged victorious in the 2023 Boys Football BUSF (Bhutan University Sports Federation) tournament, competing against Paro College of Education in the finals held at the College of Science and Technology coinciding with the National Day. The intense match ended in 2:2 draw, leading to a penalty shootout where Sherubtse secured a 5-3 win. Amidst other sports categories exiting the tournament, Sherubtse's Boys Football team brings pride to the institution.

The Royal University Sports Federation hosted the University Winter Games at the College of Science and Technology. The opening ceremony was graced by the Vice Chancellor of RUB and featured a unique touch lighting ceremony involving custodians from various colleges. Among them, Tandin Tsheten, representing Sherubtse, participated as a custodian, marking the event's symbolic inauguration. our boys will face Gedu college of business studies in the second match at 2:00 pm today.

Sherubtse Y-peer Network, under Project Go Zero funded by UNFPA Bhutan, conducted a Training of Trainers for 27 leaders on 12th November 2023. The program addressed issues like Gender-Based Violence and responsible contraceptive use, emphasizing the pivotal role of informed leaders in driving positive community change. Aligned with Project Go Zero and the ICPD Dash Transformational Zeros initiative, this initiative by Sherubtse Y-Peer Network contributes to awareness, education, and community-driven transformation.

Sherubtse College celebrated the 68th Birth Anniversary of the Fourth Druk Gyalpo with a series of events and activities at College Zangdopelri.

Activities included offering butter lamps, prayers and a digital story exhibition across four forums.

GNH coordinator and FINA representative highlighted the occasion's significance. Furthermore, prizes were presented to the winners of the digital story telling competition.

The Social Science Forum secured the first position in the competition, followed by the Science Forum and Mathematics Forum.

Deputy Chief of Police, Colonel Passang Dorji, delivered a sensitization talk at Sherubtse College, addressing the pressing issues of crime and drug abuse in the community.

The event engaged a diverse audience including, students and faculties of Sherubtse, along with distinguished guests Trashigang Throm Thuemi, Kanglung and Ozorong Gup.
The event emphasized the need for collective effort in combating the growing issues of crime and drug abuse.

Colonel provided valuable insights into the types of crimes prevalent in the area, the demographics of those involved, and the legal implications and rehabilitation services available for drug abusers.

The event, organized in collaboration with FINA, featured a portrayal of Jampelyang Thongdrel and was attended by college staff, faculty, students, and the Kanglung community to mark the descending day of Buddha at the college Zangdopelri. The celebration included spiritual activities like Kago session led by Khenpo Sherab from Cheorkortse Shedra, traditional mask dances, and age-old traditional dance performances, highlighting the cultural and spiritual significance of the day.

The Departmental football tournament for the year 2023 came to an exciting conclusion today, as Sherubtse faced off against TGH SAKHAR FC.

Both teams showcased their exceptional skills throughout the game, but it was Sherubtse who ultimately claimed victory with a final score of 3-0.

The Sherubtse faculties, staff and student leaders gathered to offer butter lamps and prayers at the College Zangdopelri in celebration of the 15th Coronation Day.

Student leaders also took the opportunity to express their reflections on the significant positive changes brought about by His Majesty in Bhutan. To add a touch of festivity, cultural programs were also organized as part of the celebration.

This heartfelt tribute symbolized the collective wishes for perpetual peace, prosperity, and happiness in Bhutan under the benevolent rule of His Majesty.

The Y-PEER project "Go Zero," funded by UNFPA, held a 3-day workshop to train 27 participants on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and contraception. The workshop focused on zero GBV and zero unmet need for contraceptives, enhancing soft skills and knowledge through interactive activities. Sherubtse Y-PEER aims to empower young peer educators.

𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘂𝗯𝘁𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴.

Sherubtse College recently conducted a three-day AI and ML training program for its DSDA faculty and other interested staff members. Led by Prof. Aldwin Sumalabe, the program covered topics like AI and ML fundamentals, supervised and unsupervised learning, ensemble learning, and capstone projects. This training, held from October 27 to 29, followed the inauguration of the new Data Science Lab on October 26, equipped with high-performance machines for AI and ML projects.
