Sherubtse College delivered an impressive performance at the Bhutan University Sports Federation (BUSF) 2024 tournament, concluding with a runner-up position in the girls’ football final. The team faced Paro College of Education in a thrilling match but fell short with a 0-2 scoreline.

The girls’ football team, along with Sherubtse’s volleyball team, was honored during the award ceremony, receiving trophies and medals in recognition of their remarkable journey and achievements in the tournament.

The BUSF 2024 tournament held in Samtse College of education, proved to be a historic event for Sherubtse College, with teams across various sports showcasing outstanding performances. Their dedication and success have brought glory to the college, further reinforcing the excellence in sports.

Sherubtse College team showcased remarkable performances in the ongoing Bhutan University Sports Federation (BUSF) tournament held in Samtse.

In the boys' volleyball category, Sherubtse College faced Gedu College of Business Studies in a hard-fought final match. Despite their efforts, the team finished as runners-up in the tournament.

In the girls' football category, Sherubtse went up against Paro College of Education in a closely contested match that ended in a 1-3 loss. However, with three victories earlier in the tournament, the team has already secured a spot in the finals. The much-awaited football final is set to take place tomorrow.

The Sherubtse teams have displayed consistent skill and determination, establishing their position as strong contenders in the tournament.

In the ongoing Bhutan University Sports Federation (BUSF) tournament, Sherubtse College’s football girls and volleyball boys have secured victories, earning their place in the finals.

In a thrilling girls' football match, Sherubtse defeated the College of Language and Culture Studies (CLCS) with a score of 2-0.

The boys' volleyball team showcased their skills against Paro College of Education, winning three sets to qualify for the finals.

The Sherubtse football and volleyball teams have secured their place in final, which are scheduled to take place in the coming week.

In basketball, Sherubtse Team faced Gedu College of Business Studies (GCBS) in a closely contested match. The team narrowly missed victory, losing by one basket in the final moments.

In football, Sherubtse’s girls displayed remarkable skill and coordination against Gyalpozhing College of Information Technology (GCIT). Their commanding performance secured a decisive 3-0 victory, showcasing dominance on the field.

Sherubtse teams continue to build momentum, with the football girls' team and volleyball boys teams maintaining impressive winning streaks, keeping hopes high for further success in the tournament.

Sherubtse College teams delivered outstanding performances at the ongoing Bhutan University Sports Federation (BUSF) tournament in Samtse, securing victories across volleyball, basketball, and football.

𝗩𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹: The Sherubtse boys volleyball team continued its winning streak, defeating the College of Natural Resources (CNR) team. Despite losing the first set, Sherubtse made a strong comeback, winning the next three sets to claim a decisive victory.

𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹:: In women’s basketball, Sherubtse faced CNR in an intense match. The Sherubtse team showcased exceptional skill and determination, winning the game with a close score of 25–21.

𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹: The women’s football team dominated their match against Gedu College of Business Studies (GCBS). Displaying excellent teamwork and strategy, Sherubtse secured an impressive 4–1 victory.

The BUSF tournament is currently taking place at Samtse College of Education, with Sherubtse College representing the eastern region in boys' volleyball, girls' basketball, and girls' football.

𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆

Department of Arts and Humanities (DoAH) held its award night ceremony today, recognizing outstanding contributions and participation by its students on November 20, 2024.

Certificates for Class Representatives (CR) and various events organized by DoAH, such as debates, discussions, and a ma*****na uprooting campaign, were distributed during the event.

The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the Best CR award for the semester, which was awarded to Tashi Yangzom and Samten Chedup, from BA English 3rd Year.

Furthermore Rinzin Pema from BA English 3rd year was awarded a certificate of special appreciation.

The award night celebrated the efforts of the students and fostered a sense of recognition and encouragement within the department.

𝗬-𝗣𝗘𝗘𝗥 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆

Y-PEER Sherubtse marked International Men's Day with a grand celebration, concluding the semester's final session on November 19. The event emphasized the theme "Mental Health Champion," promoting men's overall well-being.

Male participants were warmly welcomed, setting the tone for a vibrant and inclusive session. The event featured engaging activities such as chair dancing and balloon-blasting games, aimed at rekindling childhood joy and challenging societal stereotypes that expect men to always be strong.

The event also features an act play performed by the girls' team, portraying societal perceptions of men. The play encouraged understanding, emphasizing that it is acceptable for men to express vulnerability. It called for equal treatment and support for men to open about their emotions without fear of judgment.

The session concluded with renewed commitment to fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment for men, highlighting the importance of mental health and emotional well-being. Furthermore, Y-PEER unit concluded its final activity for the semester with a feedback session and a review of the highlights from events conducted throughout the term.

𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝘀

The Basketball Department Tournament reached an exciting conclusion with remarkable performances in the finals by both boys' and girls' teams on 15th November 2024.

In the girls' inter-residential category, Dekiling Hall claimed the championship title with a dominant 38-16 victory over MPH. Their teamwork and precision on the court captivated the audience.

Meanwhile, in the boys' category, EcoGeo secured the title by defeating DSDA with an impressive score of 52-32, showcasing remarkable coordination and skill.

With these matches, the highly anticipated basketball tournament ended, leaving players and spectators alike with unforgettable memories of outstanding sportsmanship and competition.

"The Department of Arts and Humanities (DoAH) hosted a panel discussion on "Turning Brain Drain into Brain Gain: Attracting and Retaining Talent" On November 8, 2024.

The event addressed Bhutan’s challenges in retaining skilled professionals and explored strategies to encourage local talent to stay while attracting those abroad to return and contribute to the nation’s growth.

Moderated by Jamyang Jigdrel Norbu from BA History, the panel featured representatives from six classes. Khenrab Nyima Dorji from BA English was recognized as the Best Panelist for insightful contributions on reversing brain drain.

The excitement continued Day Two with Volleyball and boys’ football teams.

𝗩𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: Sherubtse girls’ volleyball team, though resilient, was unable to win three consecutive sets. However, Sherubtse boys’ volleyball team made history with a memorable victory, showcasing their commitment and skill.

𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: Sherubtse boys’ football team played a tense match that ended 2-3, leading to a tie when combined with their previous away win. The tie resulted in a penalty shootout, where the team narrowly missed victory despite their strong efforts.

With the end of eastern Bhutan University of Sports Federation national qualifications and a series of closely fought games, both the teams have shown resilience, dedication, and pride throughout the Eastern BUSF Tournament, leaving a mark on this year’s event.
