Update.

We are launching an app.

That is all.

Stay tuned.

09/08/2024

Good Evening, SiWeather Nation!

While our operations are suspended with a lot of uncertainty, we do understand how much you value our content.

The reality is our network takes more than imagined to operate.

Here is an update as promised.

At present SIWXN operates as ground truth weather observations to help advance warnings and decision support for not only The Bahamas, but several islands in The Caribbean.

We have over 387 Certified Storm Spotters across the aforementioned areas that not only record or photograph events, but provide their respective meteorological offices and media with factual reports to better keep the public safe.

At present, our financial support from various entities inclusive of government is non existent. Which means our teams are self funding their operations.

We have tried over 7 years to gain the support outside of likes and follows for our valuable services to no avail.

Currently we have 3 active advanced weather stations in New Providence that require repair or replacement with an additional 2 in storage. Our equipment in that of infield data collection tools, cameras, vehicles, and communication tools are on the fringe with no support to replace them to the 5 star standard the nation is use to.

Our computers require replacement and servers require upgrades. Not to mention the damages to Storm chase units we have had to scotch tape just to keep going, some of which can compromise the safety of our volunteers.

We understand this isn't Oklahoma, but the weather goes beyond thunderstorms and hurricanes. It occurs everyday.

We are working keenly to restore to the best we can some of our equipment however we need your support.

If you are interested in being a partner, reach out to us at [email protected] and let's work together to keep the nation and the region weather ready.

Our operations are suspended until September 18th 2024.

This is due to the lack of support on all levels.

It takes a lot to run an advanced Storm team equipped with Search and Rescue Teams and Disaster Response Teams. Sadly, the public support is not available.

See you in September... hopefully.
