FCP Issues Statement Following Fatal Industrial Accident at Port Facility

Freeport Container Port has issued an official statement confirming a fatal industrial accident at its terminal earlier this morning.

Chief Executive Officer Godfrey Smith says the Royal Bahamas Police Force is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, with support from FCP’s in-house security and safety teams.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld at this time pending notification of the immediate family.

FCP officials expressed heartfelt condolences to the victim’s loved ones and colleagues.
