For the last four years (2015-2018) the Brazilian Society of Dental Research (Sociedade Brasileira de Pesquisa Odontológica -SBPqO) organized important room for Laser Dentistry Symposiums. This recognition was of utmost importance, once researches involving Lasers in several Dental specialties have been growing worldwide, and the Dentistry in Brazil has contributed significantly to the development of this area. The Brazilian Dental Science journal (BDS) has also published symposium reviews (2019) in their ensuing editions. A representative editorial was written regarding Laser panorama in dentistry in 2015 and some original articles related to this subject was published in volume 18, number 4. In 2019 a special editorial was also published with important applications of Lasers in several Dental specialties. This clinical study was conducted to evaluate the effect of immediate loading on peri-implant soft tissue health using three protocols: I) Immediate functional loading using polymer infiltrated ceramic material (IFLV). II) Immediate functional loading using polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) followed by delayed functional loading using material (IFLP). III) Immediate non-functional loading using PMMA followed by delayed functional loading using PIC material (INFLP).
👉🏽 The conclusion was that immediate non-functional loadingshowed the best outcomes. However, peri-implant soft tissue health of the immediate functional loading using the PIC crown material was clinically acceptable. #dentist #dentalimplants #dentalsurgery #prothesedentaire #odontology

Whitening treatment in nonvital teeth
This study evaluated the clinical performance of the whitening treatment in nonvital teeth using the walking bleaching technique and inside-outside technique, correlating the main factors that may interfere in the stability of the whitening and patient satisfaction. Color changes after whitening influenced patient’s satisfaction. There was no correlation among the color relapse and height of gutta-percha, return interval or cause of darkening. COVID-19 is sensitive to UV irradiation that can break the genome of this virus, inactivating it. In our study, we performed the calculation of the time required to decontaminate a dental care room between each patient change. We can conclude that the use of UVC can be incorporated into the dental care routine to reduce cross contamination.
