Why children, mostly girls, sometime
s develop such weak confidence and low self-esteem? So How might be the society if we have confident individuals living together? To get closer to an answer I’ve been sensing, researching (a lot), questioning and networking, feeling up UNBOX’s mind map with helpful insights and inspiring initiatives around the globe. I am with all my heart in this project and I want to share with you. Two facts that combined made me think about this Project:
Children stare screens (TV, phones, tablets and computers) two to four hours a day. Cartoons are one of the biggest mark adults have from their childhood. So UNBOX wants to inspire next generations with unboxed adults. Develop, produce and provide gender balanced content into cartoons and news for children. Because if they can see it, they can be it. Children are big observers and they learn a lot imitating what they see and immersing in imaginaries worlds. Through the UNBOX channel kids can watch cartoons that aim not only to amuse and entertain, but also to play around a free from stereotype zone, educating and promoting gender balance. In the same channel we want to provide to the audience updated news about the things that are going on around them (locally and globally), all in a format adapted for children, allowing a connection to the global world we all live in. Why the project is called UNBOX? Because there isn’t such thing as living in a box. We think outside of the box, we want children to think outside of boxes, because there is no box we fit in.
