🇬🇧 With its transparent waters blending into the navy blue, coconut trees of various sizes reflecting the beauty of the stunning beaches of the Bahian coast, Campinho is the perfect setting to spend long hours in contemplation.
Unlike Goió Island, characterized by shallow waters, the waters that bathe Campinho Island are deep, with only a small shallow strip, ideal for relaxing baths and for water sports such as stand-up paddle and snorkeling.
Campinho may not feature prominently in the history of the Bahian economy, but it holds interesting and curious stories. Due to the great depth of its surroundings, the island narrowly missed having an industrial park built on its lands, a project that was ultimately shelved and later transferred to Ilhéus.
For literature lovers, Antoine Saint-Exupéry, author of one of the most famous books of children's literature - The Little Prince -, visited Campinho Island in 1930, 13 years before the publication of one of his best-known works.
