RIVERS STATE LEADERSHIP PARTICIPATES IN LEADERSHIP SUMMIT ORGANIZED BY RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT UNDER THE OFFICE OF THE SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE GOVERNOR ON STUDENT AFFAIRS.

On Thursday 12, Dec 2024, inline with the world Students Day 2024 Celebration, I Comr. Sampson N. Ebenuwa and (my team)the Rivers State Executive Council of the Niger Delta Students Union Government was invited by Hon. Soye Maxwell Special Assistant on Students Affairs to the Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency Sir Siminalaye Joseph Fubara GSSRS, to a LEADERSHIP SUMMIT: EMPOWERING STUDENTS TO BE AGENTS OF CHANGE.

I Comr. Sampson Ngozichukwuka Ebenuwa. Sincerely thank the Governor of Rivers State for giving the Rivers State Students Community a Listening S.A on Students Affairs and also for the support given to the office of the S.A on Students Affairs to organize such an impactful and unforgettable LEADERSHIP SUMMIT for Rivers State Students.

In this same vain the Rivers State Students Community was informed by the S.A on Students Affairs Hon. Soye Maxwell of February 5/6 2025, THE NIGER DELTA STUDENTS UNION GOVERNMENT, RIVERS STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT/LEADERS CONGRESS, titled

RESEARCH AND INNOVATION, A PATH TO SUSTAINED ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENT.

The event was graced with the presence of Rt Hon. Victor Oko Jumbo the Speaker of the Rivers State House Of Assembly, other dignitaries, stakeholders and keynote speakers, Student leaders from the 23LGAs in Rivers State was visibly present and many leaders endorsed the NIDSUG RIVERS STATE Program.

Thank you, our undefeatable Governor, Thank you Hon. Soye Maxwell for putting up such a colorful and impactful LEADERSHIP SUMMIT for Rivers State Students.

Dr. Ngọzi Okonjo-Iweala got a second term last week as the Director-General of the World Trade Organization. She is the first woman and first African to lead the World Trade Organization as Director-General.

Education, intelligence and diligence made this amazing woman to rise to the pinnacle of her career. While most Nigerians would lobby to be made ministers or advisers, she was begged by a number of Nigerian presidents to be minister, because of her capacity. She accepted some and rejected some. She helped us to pay off our debt and to save money.

Like our people say, when a child washes her hands well, she dines with elders and titled people. Today, NOI dines with presidents of different countries and other world leaders.

Yet in spite of her achievements, you can feel her humility and simplicity.

Sadly, I have never met her in person. My dream is to sit down with her one day and tap from her spring of knowledge.

To paraphrase Socrates' assertion, under the guidance of a competent Leadership, there will never be weak or murmuring followers.

The Leadership of the Niger Delta Students' Union Government, NIDSUG, led by the National President, Comr. Scott Ogunseri, seizes this opportunity to salute one of the significant Generals who were at the vanguard position of the movement for the emancipation of the Niger Delta region. Barr. Mitee, you have never joined the league of those who keep mute amidst the suffering of our people in Niger Delta, but, has always been at the vanguard position for the restoration of the Niger Delta region to normalcy.

We doff our caps to you, for the good works you have done, doing and intend to do for the aggrandizement of our region, we urge you, Esquire, to keep up the good works. What is worth doing at all (says a great man), is worth doing well.

We won't forget your massive positive contributions towards the emancipation of the Niger Delta region from your formative days, how you had a "first-hand in the impact that the oil companies had on the environment and the Nigerian people." We were also told how you grew up with an acute awareness of justice, which guided you in establishing a career in Law profession, and was inspired by your good friend who was your fellow activist Ken Saro-Wiwa, how you risked your life to raise awareness of the Ogoni plight.

The Niger Delta Students' Union Government (NIDSUG) equally felicitate with you, on your recent age aggrandizement, marked with several remarkable achievements cm humanitarian services, we pray that the God almighty will guide and guard you till you finish your mission on Earth, before taking a bow.

OPOROZA WEARS A WELCOMES GOOD SCORES, AS NIDSUG NATIONAL PRESIDENT COMR SCOTT OGUNSERI AND OTHERS STORM AMASEIKUMOR FESTIVAL 2024

The Leadership of the Niger Delta Students' Union Government, NIDSUG, has on Friday, 12th April, together with other top ranking Dignitaries from the region graced the 2024 Amaseikumor Festival.

The Grand finale of the annual Festival which took place in Oporoza community, the headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri West Delta State, attracted Bigwigs from all walks of Nigeria including: the Traditional Rulers of the region, Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, National Assembly Members and Speakers, Leadership of the Niger Students' Union Government and others.

During the festival, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo popularly known by his sobriquet Tompolo, who is the Chief Priest of Egbesu deity, god of war in the region, arrested the attention of the attendees as he led the Masquerades with a cultural dance into the venue, where they paid homage to the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, HRM Oboro Gbaraun ii, who was fenced by other Monarchs from the region.

The National President of NIDSUG, Comr. Scott Ogunseri, during a cross section with the Press Men, poured encomiums on the Traditional Council cm people of Gbaramatu Kingdom and Niger Delta region in general. In his words, he registered that, "Amaseikumor annual festival from time immemorial is one of the most popularly celebrated festival in the continent of Africa. This year's traditional event has indeed stood taller than other year's own, this is a product of the collective efforts made by the traditional council and people of Gbaramatu Kingdom, which attracted people from all nooks and crannies of Nigeria to honour. I doff my cap for the good people of Niger Delta region for their continuous efforts in promoting norms, cultures and traditions which have helped in bring about development in our region.

"The presence of the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo(SAN), Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, the Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District, Joel Onowakpor, member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, Rt Hon. Julius Pondi, the Speakers of the Delta and Bayelsa States House of Assemblies, Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor and Rt Hon. Abraham Ingobere, Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri (IYC National President),Chief Dr Dennis Otuaro (PAP Boss), INC National President, Barrister Frank, IYC Clan Chairman, Gbaramatu youth Excos, resident,and others that time won't permit me to call here, are testaments to the fact that the Niger Delta region constitute a significant position in the population of Nigeria. I implore every regional head and the good people of Nigeria to put hands together so as to restore the country to normalcy.

It was gathered that Dr Praise of MICN (Healthy MOM & CHILD Innitiative) and Esther Matthew Tonlagha Foundation (EMTF) supplied free Medical care and treatment to the community dwellers and visitors during the festival in Oporoza Town. According to our findings, over 2000 attendees received free medical treatment sponsored by the MICN & EMTF.

The Spokesperson of the Gbaramatu Kingdom, Chief God'spower Gbenekama, in his address of welcome eulogized the participants of the event, he equally charged them to "Imbibe the culture of love, peace and unity which Gbaramatu Kingdom is known for and has been preaching from the time of our ancestors down to this era. I urge everyone to join hands together as we break Niger Delta from the shackles of underdevelopment amidst plenty."

Special appreciation to Barrister Frank, a student friendly Leader and Boss, Gbaramatu Students Union for playing Host to NIDSUG, Gbaramatu youth President and excos, Gbaramatu IYC Clan Chairman, General Elington, Comrade Williams, Comrade Doubra and many more for there Love and care towards the Niger Delta Students that attended.
