Thanks to Nicole Uwimana and your organization: African Woman in Action, for providing sanitary pads to the young beautiful girls at Ndagano School.

Over the years girls have been known to miss school every month for a period of 4-5 days. Girls in Burundi who live in rural places with no knowledge or financial capabilities to buy pads have been unbearably challenged to endure the hardship of being in their periods. What was meant to be celebrated and appreciated, turned them into victim; due to the fact that they have to miss school and other regular activities. It has affects their confidence, their concentration in class, self hatred, etc. BYW would like to encourage you all to have this kind of conversation into your homes, so that we may change the narrative. Lets celebrate womanhood/menstruation!!!

We believe that among the students at Ndagano school awaits the future leader, entrepreneurs, doctors, counselors, etc. Let's all join hands and help educate our beautiful nation Burundi.

September 5, 2020 we distributed school materials: 5 copy books, 2 pens, 2 pencils, and 1 sharpener to 248 pupils who helped us build the school, by fetching water needed for building activities.

Meet one of our very own Emmanuel Niyoyabikoze who is representing Burundi well. He is a climate and peace activist in Burundi. He is also the founder and director of greening Burundi. He is a passionate and devoted to protect the environment and to make the world a safer and better place for everyone. Last year 2019, he was also selected among the top 5 influencial people in protecting the environment by Yaga.
