Hello, network! 😊 In 2024 I decided to speak more about 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 💖 , so today I want to share on a topic very close to my heart "𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲". Being a mother myself, I know first hand how touchy the subject is.😉 We have been preparing for this and still there is a big shift in dynamics, priorities, many firsts and decisions that need to be made. Motherhood is a very personal and intimate experience so there is "no - one - way" or "right way" to go trough it but what works for you. On that note :
🍀 𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲 by the end of your maternity to go back to work or if the circumstances allow it, to stay home.
🍀 𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲 to continue doing your job but also have a tough conversation with your boss about possible opportunities to change position.
🍀 𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲 to make a career change and do something totally different from what you did before.
🍀 𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲 to prioritize your health and wellbeing.
🍀 𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲 to search for a support system in other moms or psychotherapist.
𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲 not to have everything figured out. 🌞 For the past 6 months I have been helping moms coming back from maternity break the stigma and guilt and make necessary decisions. We as mothers should be accepting and understanding of each other's journeys. If you see a momy that is struggling, reach out. Your kind words might be exactly what she needs. 🙏 💓

Making the right career change is an important move🎯 that these days usually means going on 1-2 rounds of interviews in several companies and sometimes even some assignments. This can get exhausting and time consuming, not to mention the time you wait for an answer.

👉 But what happens when the company's answer is not delivered in the promised time slot? Or doesn't arrive at all? (yes, that does still happen) 🤷

💥 That creates frustration and messes with your decision making.

So what to do when facing this hardship?

💡First of all - breath! Such things happen in the real world.

🚫 𝗗𝗢 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗘 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗗 based on previous experiences or out of frustration. Stay with an open mind!

💡Write an e-mail ( RE: INTERVIEW INVITATION) to your invite, to kindly remind of yourself and your case, or call the person responsible for this position. Try to get more information on the situation and the slot extension if this is possible. However, if there is no information, prioritize accordingly and focuse on the opportunities that you have clarity.

💡Prioritize them by the state of desirability.

👉 Most likely you should receive an answer, even if its a generic one out of respect for the time and interest in this company.

🤔 However, if you don't receive one, consider if you'd trust your future in the hands of such unreliable process.

What not the forget is: We are all living people and should have respect for the time of others and also consider that things happen and sometimes we don't have control over the situation.

Let me ask you this: Before deciding on a new job, did you take the time to think how "change" looks for you? How does it make you feel?
Most people make change because they no longer want to be in a certain situation. But people often miss the moment where you ask your self "What do I need?", "What's in it for me?"
Do not trоw yourself in the sea of Opportunities.
