Objections to Christianity
There are many misconceptions and negative connotations that surround Christianity. This causes many to naturally reject it's message. It is not uncommon to hear that Christianity is a "white man's religion" or how slave masters used it to brainwash slaves. While these are understandable critiques, if most exercised critical thinking skills they would see Christianity is not a religion that endorses oppression but one of liberation!

An holistic approach to health and wellness
Too often health is compartmentalized and not viewed holistically. Poor physical health affects our mental, emotional and spiritual health and vice versa. Here Sandy and Nate discuss the necessity of not allowing physical fitness become their identity. In addition, we discuss Sandy's extremely personal sermon on mental health and how as husbands we have a role in helping our spouse stay healthy.

I rather lay down and sleep, than get up and run!
With a New Year there are always those with well meaning intentions to be healthly and workout. However, we all know most have already abandoned their health goals by now, myself included. Yet, I understand the necessity of not only being discipline to workout but being discipline in all areas of life.
Ya doin it wrong! Ep. 12: Wellness
This month Brandon catches up with Nate and Sandy as they discuss health, or better yet "wellness". Sandy the "White Kenyan" and Nate the "Black Incredible Hulk" are in great physical shape. Yet, often times we create a hierarchy when it comes to health. We tend to value physical health while neglecting our mental, emotional and spiritual health. However, we some shouldn't compartmentalize health. Instead, health should be viewed holistically because it is all interconnected.

Engaging those who doubt
A huge misconception about Christians is that they are not critical thinkers. Most think it's foolish to follow a book written by men or that church and religion are for people who can't think for themselves. While I strongly disagree, I can empathize with those who feel this way. Nonetheless, it's privilege to engage people who think Christianity is some BULL!

How are Christians portrayed in mainstream media?
One of the most disheartening but expected aspects about mainstream media is how Christians are portrayed. Christian are often portrayed as these hypocritical, non-critical thinking, homophobic, judgmental people. While this is certainly the caricature of SOME, it is not indicative of ALL who profess Jesus!

We're the reason people doubt!
Christians are stereotyped for judging and examining the lives of others. Yet, often times they fail to examine their own lives. I've certainly been guilty this! Therefore, it's necessary to ask, how have we contributed to people's doubts about our faith?

Taboo Topics: Abortion
There is so much controversy surrounding this topic of abortion. While this is certainly understandable, it doesn't help that those who champion grace are not the most gracious. It's easy to espouse theological rhetoric to justify a stance. But it's difficult to truly love and comfort someone who doesn't feel the same way.

Taboo Topics: Infertility
Life is extremely challenging and sometimes its easier to ignore these challenges instead of addressing them. While difficult, its necessary to discuss taboo topics like infertility. It's necessary because we don't know how our experiences can be a blessing and encouragement to someone else!
