This is my friend. His face has that permanent teasing look that makes you laugh. Multi-talented, he was witty, he was a linguist, and when he sang in Berom, none of his guests was left standing! He was an impressionist, entertainer and one of those very rare people that seemed to have no wahala. To describe any “great excitement,” he would say, “There was commotion as if the Devil had suddenly walked into Heaven!”
Dr. Patrick Ityohegh, Officer of the Federal Republic, (OFR), winner of the 1998 Productivity Merit Award (NPMA), became the Director-General of Nigerian Television Authority, but he was always on the shop floor, showing the public the Sunny Side of Life.
Every evening, his home became entertainment centre. As help after help of pepper soup and drinks were being served, Patrick kept everyone holding their sides with laughter, and when I was around, warned them not to choke on their drinks on pain of my operating on them with the available table knife, without anaesthesia!
When he was in the US, he taught the Americans how to accurately pronounce his name, written Ityohegh, a spelling that tongue-tied them. “Just say EAT-YOUR-HEAD, the D is silent.” Try it. It’s a screamer, but it’s perfect!
A man with a generous heart. Whatever he had he shared with friends and acquaintances. Great public spirit. When he retired to Makurdi, he began to convert the town into a flower garden! He turned his residential area into a beautiful boulevard. He departed this earth on Wednesday 5th April 2017. It’s now three years, but his love for humanity continues to live after him. When I die, let no one grieve for me, you mustn’t depress us, for I shall go straight to meet my friend, to laugh off the sunny side of ....er...er....wherever we find ourselves!

PRESIDENT TINUBU SLASHES OFFICIAL ENTOURAGE BY 60%

In an effort to reduce the cost of governance at the federal level, President Bola Tinubu has issued a directive to significantly cut down official entourages for state and international events by 60 percent.

Additionally, he has mandated that for each local government trip, security details should be sourced from the host state. Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesperson, disclosed this information during a press briefing at the State House in Abuja yesterday.

Under the new guidelines, the President will now travel with a reduced entourage of only 20 officials, a notable decrease from the previous count of over 50 individuals. Similarly, the Vice President's entourage will be limited to five officials, and both the First Lady and the wife of the Vice President are now permitted to have five accompanying officials each.

Abuja is becoming increasingly unsafe.

My friend Sunday Igbene had this horrific experience on Monday. Read below as shared on the Church Testimonies session. This is happening weeks after another Benue brother Gwebe Yeshua Alabama was killed in a simultaneous false alarm attack. Stay safe but we must call to action our leader to take action against these criminals.

Sir, i had travelled to tidy up a transaction in Benue earlier this week. On my way back to Abuja, for one delay or the other i arrived a Little bit late at about 5:pm, passed through Masaka. Shortly before i arrived Mararaba i noticed two guys on a bike speaking to me in Hausa behinde me, as i approached the hold up at the entrance of Mararaba, they over took me,blocked my vehicle, forced my car doors open and began to rain slaps on me, acusing me of knocking down one of them at Ado. this was not true, there was no such incident, i kept shouting on top of my voice that there was no such things, and that i wasn't involved in any accident, Nobody listened to me,no One was ready to hear me out. while the harassment was on people were only standing and watching as they were hitting me. By now some of them has pulled out knives, one began to drew fuel from his bike that he was going to set me and my car ablaze . All i remembered were the declearations made by God's servant during the commanding the Day prayers so i began to shout, Oh God of Dr Pastor Paul Enenche INTERVENE!! I can't die like a chicken, oh God of Dunamis and Dr Pastor Paul Enenche INTERVENE!! I can't be wasted just like that i am innocent. They forced me into my car and were now driving me to Adoo probably to do the unimaginable. Shortly afterwards a team of Federal Police unit in Siena arrived from God knows where, intercepted and blocked our vehicle, cocked their riffles ready for action to my recue as though they were under express order. It took them fight to rescue me but they took me without a scratch to the station at Mararaba for safety.The DPO called his colleagues at Adoo the said there was no incident as claimed by the Hausa guys so the DPO ordered his men to allow me to go that he knew it was all lies but l should go and thank the God l served. I am preserved to the glory of God. He is God! HALLELUJAH!!

Update on Gwebe Yeshua Alabama

Last Monday 20/11/2023 after work, Gwebe Yeshua Alabama left Hon. Agbese's (his boss) home at about 9pm to the place where he lives, a suburb in the neighboring Nasarawa State called "One man village." He boarded a public transport vehicle popularly known as "Along," those of you in Abuja and it's environs are conversant with this transport system.

Midway into the trip the driver, a middle aged decided to end the trip asking Alabama to find another way to get to his destination stating that he couldn't go that far with just a single passenger. Alabama refused to comply and it was at this point that a scuffle broke out which spiralled into a big fight.

As Alabama who's younger and more energetic than the middle aged driver overpowered him, he shouted for help claiming Alabama was attempting to sn**ch his car. The mob won't hear thing as they descended on him beating him to pulp.

One of the onlookers quickly ran to the nearest police station to report the mob action and returned with the police to the scene. The officers were able to disperse the crowd, arrested the driver and took the already unconscious Alabama to the hospital. Yesterday, Thursday 23/11/2023, he passed.

As I write, His in-law, Jacob Ayati is at Galadimawa police station where the driver is still in detention.

I will leave the numbers of both the DPO and Alabama's in-law on this post for those who need further clarification to call.
Hope mine here throws a little light on the death of our brother which many think is shrouded in mystery.

Unongo died on Tuesday 29 November 2022 at the age of 87.

The elder statesman died at a hospital in Jos, Plateau State.

The late Unongo was born on September 26, 1935 and belonged to the Kwaghngise-Anure-Abera ancestry in Turan of Kwande Local Government Area in Benue.
