The Naval Ships Memorial Monument located in Burlington, Ontario. The memorial is dedicated to the memory of the 31 warships and the 2024 Naval Personnel of the Royal Canadian Navy and the 75 ships and 1466 merchant seamen of the Canadian Merchant Navy who were lost during World War II.

On Remembrance Day of this year, Spinning Rabbit Productions in conjunction with True Patriot Love Foundation and former Chief of Defence Staff General (retired) Rick Hillier is pleased to present the documentary Forged In Stone.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of World War One, former Chief of Defence Staff General (retired) Rick Hillier and fellow Canadian veterans Captain (retired) MaryAnn Barber and wounded war vet Corporal (retired) Mark Fuchko visit iconic monuments erected in honour of the sacrifice made by Canadian and allied soldiers during the great war. Monuments such as The Brooding Soldier, Vimy Ridge and Passchendaele not only mark moments in the history of World War One where Canadian soldiers stood tall against an enemy, they are guide posts to the rise of Canada's national identity at home and on the world stage.

“World War I, and the almost 700,000 Canadian sons and daughters who served during it, led to the building of this great nation and was the first of several ‘melting pots’ that made us the extraordinary society we are today. Visiting numerous strike that commemorate loss...this site in particular got to me. The touching headstones indicate these soldiers died in a manner where their body parts could not be easily identifies so they were buried together. This little plot is the final resting place for at least 25 souls. 1

The Menin Gate Memorial commemorate 54,896 soldiers lost in World War 1 never to be found. 6,983 of the names engraved on the walls were young Canadians. People to this day journey to this site to pay their respects. # memorials Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917
