My hair, my crown!

I remember back when I made a spur of the moment decision to big chop, everyone tried speaking me out of it. I was told I'd regret it, asked to just transition a little bit longer too. But, I had the full picture in my head of what my goal was. And that was all I needed.

I must admit, I expected a completely different hair texture. I always thought that I'd have the hair that falls down, you know the type that gets praised more, but I was in for a rude awakening. It definitely took some getting used to as it was not what I expected. But did I regret my decision? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Was it all as easy, breazy, beautiful, cover girl as it seemed? Definitely not but oh man was it worth it!

Do you ever look back at your journey with regret? Are you glad you made the decision you did?

I use to deep condition once a week but now I do it once every two weeks but still try to rush through it 🤦‍♀️ I'm a mess 🤣

I've become such a lazy naturalista which in turn has lead to me being an inconsistent creator. Sometimes the energy just isn't there for either but being consistent is something I'm working on.

Hand in hair syndrome...

If there was one thing that I've always struggled with, it would be hand in hair syndrome. I just couldn't keep my hands out of my hair! Whether it be constantly touching it, playing with it or even just doing it too much... I knew that I was doing it more harm than good. Why you ask?

Well, excessive hair touching can actually cause harm to your ends.
Over scrunching your hair could lead to frizz or even worse, breakage!
It can actually make your hair too greasy and even disrupt your hairs moisture levels!
And all that constant tugging and pulling of your hair can actually lead to hair thinning.

These were the times I still had good hair days.

For the first time since I returned natural I reached a point where I was just completely over my hair. I'm not enjoying it. I'm not feeling it. And if I'm being honest, I'm not really putting much effort into caring for it. If I had the courage, I'd go bald!
