Done with cold weather and thinking about the summer already?

We are back with the PHOTOVACATION IN FRANCE VOL 04 ⚡️ with the Sisters of Saleich!

📸 17-21 July 2023 & 14-18 August 2023

Designed for photographers of all levels that are looking for a vacation that focuses on growth, enthusiasm, and creativity. This program aims to make you explore a new perspective in capturing images while reinforcing your own style.

The theme of this year is ☀️LIGHT💡 and here will be photo shoots about landscapes, portraits, abstract subjects and whatever topic you wish to bring. We'll have plenty of open talks to inspire and promote personal growth. All that while we enjoy the breathtaking French Pyrenees, warm weather, good company, healthy food and beautiful sunsets.

What's included:
📸 6 nights in a renovated farm with a beautiful hidden garden

TRAVEL DIARIES ~ Sommet du Mont Valier, France.

Early September 2022, a little before 7 AM. The wind blows fiercely and it makes the flags around the cross on the Mont Valier rattle. Deep purple colours envelop the dormant mountains below us. A few minutes later we feel the first rays of sunlight on our skin and the wind slows down a bit. We stand with a small group of 8 people on the 2838m summit of the Seigneur du Couserans and we are silent while the sun rises. The orange light spreads over the rocks but nearly 2 hours before, we left the refuge in the dark, with only our headlights and the painted yellow-red GR markings as our guides. Climbing a steep path that sometimes disappears and that leads us over boulders and steep granite walls with only a thin rope to hold as a security.
Finally standing next to the cross after dreaming almost a year about it, I realise I gained no medals or prizes for doing this. I won so much more and the pictures I got are only a weak memory of the whole experience. Luckily, I can take the sunrise with me in my head. I look over my shoulder one last time and start the descend. of.saleich .eu

Gnarly conditions with lots of wind and rain last Sunday. Not what I expected to shoot, but the many kite surfers in the water were too good to miss so I stepped out a warm and dry and on the beach. I was soaked within 10 mins, my Z9 was soaked, but luckily that camera is built like a tank and I could care less. I was cold, but at the same time I’m so happy when I can shoot subjects like these. Anything over warm and sunny if you can get pictures like these, right?

An unexpected skate session from some weeks ago with Joke Devreese and some other people. I loved the light on the concrete! It had been a while I had been in a skate park but I had a blast to put my new camera to the test (thank you, Nikon Belgium!) and it gave energy to work on new projects!

Een aantal jaar geleden ging ik het Madam Vélo team fotograferen toen ze 3 keer op 1 dag de Mont Ventoux bovenreden.

Nog altijd één van de leukste opdrachten die ik mocht doen.

En een dag later beklom ik die puist zelf met veel aanmoedigingen van de Madammen.

Collega Corry Hancké blikt terug op 20 jaar verslaggeving in/over Afghanistan.
Het grootste deel van de foto's in de video zijn van mij toen ik met Corry naar Afghanistan trok.
Interessant om te zien, maar jammer dat zo'n prachtig land zo'n woelige geschiedenis heeft.

Een paar weken geleden mocht ik Marijn Devalck / Balthasar Boma en zijn band fotograferen voor hun nieuw project: Boma & de Slagerparade.
Ik kreeg 5 straffe muzikanten vol energie voor mijn lens!
Boma dat is worsten en vlees, dus ik wilde de band fotograferen in een slagerij. Omwille van corona moest elk bandlid apart gefotografeerd worden om ze achteraf samen te zetten.
Merci Marijn en co voor de toffe namiddag! Ik kijk al uit om jullie te zien optreden!

Vandaag kreeg ik het boek SOULPEDITION van House of sea in de bus.

Ik hielp het als eindredacteur groeien van een manuscript naar een mooi vormgegeven boek (dankzij MAFF!)
Vanaf volgende week is het voor echt en ligt het in de boekhandel en je kan het nu al bestellen via House of sea
