தமிழர்களின் பெருமையை உலகம் முழுக்க கொண்டு போய் சேர்த்ததில் திருக்குறளின் பங்கும்,திருவள்ளுவரின் பங்கும் மகத்தானது.திருவள்ளுவரின் மாபெரும் படைப்பான திருக்குறளைப் பற்றி பல்வேறு அறிஞர்கள் எழுதிய பல உரைகளும்,விளக்கங்களும் உலவிவரும் காலத்து,அடுத்த தலைமுறைகளுக்கு ஒரு அழகிய வடிவில் சேர்ப்பதற்காகவே இப்படி ஒரு படைப்பு.வள்ளுவன் எழுதிய வல்லமை பொருந்திய வான்புகழ் கொண்ட திருக்குறளுக்கு ,வலிமை குறையாதவாறு வண்ணம் தீட்டிடவே இப்படைப்பு.இது தமிழர்களின் வரலாற்றுச் சிந்தனையை மீட்டெடுக்கும். இப்படைப்பை அடுத்தடுத்த தலைமுறைகளுக்காய் அர்ப்பணிக்கிறோம்.

ஒட்டுமொத்த உலக மக்களின் வரலாறு நெடுக்க ஒரே ஒரு கதைதான். அது பாதுகாப்பிற்காக ஏதோ ஒரு வகையில் இன்னொரு இனத்தை அழித்து, தங்கள் இனத்தைத் தப்பிப்பிழைக்கச் செய்வதற்கான போராட்டம் என்ற கதை. தப்பிப்பிழைப்பதற்கானப் போராட்டத்திலிருந்து, எந்த இனமும் நழுவ முடியாது. உலகமும் அறிந்த தமிழர்களும் அதற்கு விதிவிலக்கு அல்ல. ஆனால் நடுகல் நட்டு வழிப்பட்டதிலிருந்து, இன்றுவரை தங்களுக்காக உயிர்நீத்த மனிதர்களை வணங்கி வருகிற வெகுசில இனங்களில், தமிழ் இனம் முதன்மை வாய்ந்த இனம். நாம் வாழுகின்ற இதே தமிழ் மண்ணில், தங்களுக்காக செத்து மடிந்துபோன மனிதர்களை இன்றும் நெஞ்சில் நிறுத்தி நினைவுகூறும் இனம் தமிழ் இனம். அவர்களுக்கு தமிழன் இட்ட பெயர் வெறுமனே மனிதர்கள் என்பது அல்ல. அவர்களது உயிரினும் உயர்ந்த "குலதெய்வம்" என்பதே தமிழினம் வழங்கிய மரியாதை. அவர்களின் உண்மை கதைகளை உலகறியச் செய்வதுதான் இந்த "வரலாறு" என்ற தனிப்பிரிவின் நோக்கம். தமிழர்களின் பண்பாடு மற்றும் கலாச்சாரங்களில் ஒன்றுக்கொன்று பிணைந்து காணப்படும், குலதெய்வங்களைப் பற்றிய தேடுதல் வேட்கையில் நாமும் சேர்ந்து பயணிப்போம் வாருங்கள்.
