Isle of Skye in 12-hours trip started from Inverness bus station. After leaving Inverness at 08:am the first part of our route hugged the shores of Loch Ness.

As we ventured further west the scenery became more dramatic; as the mist swirls we felt that we have truly arrived in the Scottish Highlands. As the road winds between high hills, past dark lochans and through windswept glens our guide told us the tragic history of this area, and how this history led to the desolate landscapes that you see today.

After passing the 5 Sisters of Kintail – one of Scotland’s most recognisable mountain massifs – we saw Loch Duich, which heralds our welcome to Scotland’s wonderful west coast.

The first stop on our journey was the iconic Eilean Donan Castle. Eilean Donan Castle is said to be one of the most photographed castles in the world, and justifiably so; the 13th Century fortification dominates the small tidal island it sits on, and is surrounded by majestic mountain scenery. You may well recognise Eilean Donan from films including Highlander, James Bond – The World Is Not Enough and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, a Bollywood classic.

The second stop was on Portree. Portree is a beautiful place to explore. With its quirky shops, cute cafes and interesting sights we found plenty to occupy us during our 60 minute stop here. Craft shops, coastline, coffee and colourful houses are just a few of Portree’s highlights. Set within a pretty natural harbour, and surrounded by rocky cliffs and rolling hills

A loch-side spot to view the spiky rock pinnacle of the Old Man of Storr was next on our Skye bucket list. As we ventured further north we entered a supernatural and dramatic landscape which was created by volcanic activity millions of years ago. This 50-metre high pinnacle juts out from the awe-inspiring Trotternish Ridge and will be widely recognised in feature films including Stardust, The Wicker Man, Prometheus and The BFG.

From a clifftop viewpoint, we saw the towering basalt columns of Kilt Rock and its incredible 60m waterfall. Kilt Rock is an exposed sea cliff, which resembles the traditional Highland kilt, and which wows our guests each and every time. It also boasts a waterfall that tumbles 60 metres (180 feet) into the Sound of Raasay below – a truly enthralling sight, and one made even more special when the wind blows the waterfall back up the cliff!

Our next stop was certainly one of the absolute highlights on Skye. The Quiraing is a series of landslides that have combined to create high cliffs, hidden plateaus, buttresses and rock pinnacles. When mist swirls around the volcanic rock, it can be a positively spine tingling experience and, on clear days, the views are phenomenal. We had 25 minutes here and took a short hike to find a unique vantage point!

At around 2pm we begin our journey back down Skye’s most northerly peninsula; the Trotternish. As you marvel at the majestic scenery from a completely different angle, our guide filled us in on its 190 million year old stones, Jurassic fossils, dinosaur footprints and giant lava blocks, which have led to this area being referred to as Skye’s, “Theatre of Geology”.

A real highlight was the scenic walk to the stunning Fairy Pools. The Fairy Pools are a series of beautiful rock pools and waterfalls which are famed for their crystal clear blue waters and their stunning Cuillin mountain backdrop. We spent around 75 – 90 minutes here, to give us plenty of time to enjoy this wonderful sight.

After so many world-class sights ticked off your list today, we returned to Inverness with an hour or so to sit back, relax and take in the scenery and stories before our final stop.

This is a Chand Raat vlog celebrated in Scotland, the UK with friends and family.

Chaand Raat is a time of celebration when friends and families gather in open areas at the end of the last day of Ramadan to spot the new moon, which signals the arrival of the Islamic month of Shawwal and the day of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Once the moon is sighted, people wish each other Chaand Raat Mubarak or Eid Mubarak.

Women and girls do mehndi on their hands and desserts are prepared for the next day of Eid and do the last rounds of shopping this is how Eid ki Tayari is done.

Thanks
