Having nursed her wounds after the disintegration of the Soviet Union and seeing America here and there, Russia felt that she has to come up again and begin to re-assert her mighty influence among the comity of nations. Ukraine might just be the sacrifacial lamb. When the Soviet Union fell , Russia Federation wanted a commonwealth of independent states between them, Ukraine and Belorussia but it did not work out as Ukraine and Belorussia where desirious of maintaining their independency. This did not go down well with Russia. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia has been seeking the slightest opportunity to square up with the duo . This is the main reason for the invasion. It has been their game plan to bring back the glorious days of the Soviet Union by annexing Ukraine and ultimately the whole of the defunct Soviet Union just to check mate America burlging influence in the world .

Mohbad Death Lessons For All

When a star emerges or there is a sign or signs of an emerging star, the onus lies on the the immediate family, that is, the parents and siblings then the extended family then friends collegues and community to see that the star shines, hit the limelight and bring numerous blessings to folks. There should be encouragement across board.A star is a blessing to his or her family, community, nation and race. It take a well oiled individual to write the history of a people and put a community in the map of the world. Sorry message or regret for actions not taken should be abhorred. Help for the upcoming star should as a matter of fact start from the immediate environment, that is, the family.Economics tells us that an enterpreneur raises the initial capital from his or her own savings then from family then friends before he can attract genuine interest from banks .
It is never the other way round. When we see a star shining, we may not know the role played by the family at the initial stage.We wish to be like the star without knowing what who and who have been given to make the star to blossom. In fact, we see parents blaming their unfortunate children without realising how they have failed in their overall duty of parenting .We certainly reap what we sow.Mohbad's death came with a huge lessons for humanity. Help the stars to shine. Also do not belittle the rising stars because you will have yourself to blame when he or she blows. Stars are not really made. Methinks they are born and they are not the run of the mill individuals. Help is urgently needed to see the star blossom. A little advice . A little support. A little concern. A little encouragement, a tap at the back, assurance. A little phone call . A little cash. No more no less! It does not take too much to arrive at the scene. Just being around can be the needed tonic. Do not imagine to maltreat or dehumanise the star because the day of reckoning might be too much to behold. Life speaks louder and on high frequecy on these days of reckoning. Man beware .The young man is dead now . What of the smoke and the aches that would keep arising? That is it for now. The rest is for another day!

Although, Russia had her reasons for the invasion. What they are telling us is that Ukraine intends to join NATO, that is, North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, which they felt is against their national interest. Russia would not want America and her western allies to be at her doorstep .Going by history Russia would not a repeat of what happened to them, especially during the second world war where they had to suffer for a war she had no hand in making.Russia had vowed that their land would never be a battleground for any war again. They were therefore not ready to tolerate any resemblance of it. That was how they read the Ukraine's intention of joining NATO . But looking at the situation critically, we can see that what is playing out is Russia trying to re-assert her authority and influence once more.She is no longer comfortable seeing America unilaterally dictate the pace in global affairs.

Since the 24th of February 2023 the world has been enmeshed with the ugly and unpalatable incident of the Russian invasion of her neighbor Ukraine. Reasons might defy all known logic: diplomatic, national interest, security and otherwise.The United Nations charter which Russia subscribes to recognises the independency/ soverignty of nations . No member state has the statutory right to invade and occupy another country.It is a condemnable act and must be dealt with by the concerned citizens of the world. It poses serious threat to human survival and global peace.It is totally absurd for Russia to wake up one early morning: roll her tanks, mobilise her fighting troops and invade Ukraine in defiance of international laws and conventions.

We are the ones siding the corrupt politicians, the looters of our common patrimony. Until we all come together and stamp our feet firmly on the ground and say enough is enough; we will be failing the generations of our children. The oppressors whoever they are and wherever they are coming from have no power unless we allow them. The west owes it as a mortal responsibility to aid our development.The west and their allies know what is wrong with us.They know how illicit funds leave our shores and find safe haven in western banks.If they want to help us they can help to block the channels. They know why our refineries are not working. If they want our refineries to work I bet they will work.They also know why there is total blackout in our land.If they want us to have light, there will be light. Period!

Nigeria being the giant of Africa as we say is not mere rhetorics nor academic jargon .If I am right, it is to bear the burden of our race cm the rest of humanity. Nigeria ought to be the home of the entire black race. Our people in the Disapora look unto us to provide the desired leadership. More often than not we fail them. We should stop placing a clog in the wheels of our progress, either by act of ommission, covertly or overtly . The black race has been contributing to their own undoing .We have always been on the sides of the oppressors, the antagonists, to our own detriment . Blacks aided and abethed the Europeans, the slave merchants who carried our people in the most inglorious and unhuman conditions. Our people took sides with the colonialists who trumatised, r***d, exploited our people !

It touches my humanity that we Nigerians might not actually understand the core of our existence.Why the burlging numeric? Why not be like Gambia, Togo, Benin, Sierra Leone even Ghana which are mere fractions of the geograghical entity called Nigeria? It is without any form of argument that the powers that be designed it to be so. It is therefore incumbent on us to search out the reasons for our existence or beingness vis a viz playing our roles among the comity of nations . Nigeria goes beyond the entitlement mentility: we and them. It also goes beyond it is my turn or born to rule without understanding the underlying factors of our being together. Those at the helms or struggling to be there would be causing or creating confusions not solving anything . It would be one step forward thirty steps backward.

It is said that when the reason for a thing is not known abuse is inevitable. The good book also said that My people perish for lack of knowlege. Why am I saying all these things? Globetrotting,
Landed home,
To see what is left,
Of my people!
Surprised that the ancestors,
Are not smiling,
Like the ant,
In deep meditation.

Things have gone amiss.
My people no longer,
Heed the common call!
Everyone to his own thinking,
Living for themselves,
And no one else!

It is amazing,
That civilization;
Has taken its toll
On my people:
For we can no longer,
Heed the common call,
We are known for!

What do we tell,
Our children and generations,
Yet unborn?
This is just my decent fear!
Children can come,
Seeing nothing,
If there is nothing to see;
And no body to tell them!
This is my humble cry.

Manor sobs at the gate,
Bemoaning his fate,
The sudden ruin of his acquisition.
The intruders running out of ideas,
Left quite unexpectedly.
Then I offered my black hands.
To rework the farm.
What would my ancestors think?
I asked as the new dawn unfolded!
As the sun begins his business,
Of going round!

Notes

The poem took its setting from George Orwell famous
Novel, The Animal Farm. The poem was Romanizing on the very ideal or notion of some sections of humanity.
It exposes the ills of revolution ally thinking and thoughts. See the dream failed. Neither capitalism nor communism can solve human problems as history has shown. The poet is exposing us to another level of thinking by offering his black hands to rework the farm. What the poem is saying very critically is that black history should be accorded its right of place in the overall scheme of humanity.

For every process of our way,
Has to be learned.
Simple yet complicated;
And we falter!

Animals walk barefooted,
As they were born.
It takes us years and years,
To get up!
Every process has to be learned,
And we falter!
Life in its simplicity is far flung;
A hard knock you say!

See the rose flower,
Beautiful and fragrance; well oiled,
Yet springs from thorns!
Coming to the river, downhill;
Leaving uphill!
Everything is labour,
A drain of energy and resources!
How about the crown of thorns,
Placed on the master, Jesus?
A measure of our humanity!
Need we complain,
If we be thus endowed?
That is for you!
