About 6 years ago, "However, Struggle" from HHNOI was the first release on modular404.
In the meantime we're preparing for release #42 (it would not be difficult to be at release #142 by now, but in this world of abundance it makes sense to be very selective).
Proud to announce that HHNOI - "However, Struggle" just passed 10000 streams on Spotify. Well done HHNOI (aka Marco Petracca)!!!!
Yes, we love bandcamp, vinyl, ... but the idea behind modular404 is to give more exposure to quality modular artists and tracks. That means being active on different platforms.

Hi there!
Have you ever heard about the Krell Patch?
It’s a challenge to replicate the sound and structure of the Krell song with a modular synthesizer. The Krell song appeared in SF movie Forbidden Planet (1956), and the music was produced in musique concrete style, which basically means that recorded sounds are used as raw material.

J Daniel Cramer is bringing Krell music to the next level with his modular, as the Krellberg Variations.
Full English Breakfast is a 7 track album: 7 parts from a live performance in London. As usual, each track is exactly 404 seconds. A week before this recording I saw J Daniel Cramer live at Dutch Modular Fest 2022: it was a remarkable and intense performance because Daniel has found his own unique sound spectrum and technique!
It sounds like an orchestra from an other planet, playing in scales that are not related to earth and humans, but definitely very organic and well modulated!

Dear bleep lover,
Today's RELEASE by NORDLYS is actually ... an accident!

The idea was to release 2 different tracks performed on a 4U Serge system built by Gregory Delabelle (the artist) himself, but when playing back both tracks together by accident during the mastering, it appeared that they blend amazingly perfect!
And that's how Accidental Pattern 1+2 was created next:
Nordlys made a continuous crossfade between both tracks (Accidental Pattern 1 and 2), and the result is a mindblowing trip of 404 seconds! Enjoy!

Today is bandcamp Friday: bandcamp does not take a % today.
Anyhow, it's a pay-what-you-want EP :-)

10 modular404 releases just passed the 1000 plays barrier on Spotify!
The 10th track is “Infinity” by Igor Yalivec.
On January 8 2020, Igor signed a license agreement to release “Infinity” on modular404 in March 2020.
At that time, I had to look up Dnipro, Ukraine on the map. The first image shows the first google result at that time, the second image is more recent.
Igor makes great music, his minimalistic ambient tracks are beautiful and peaceful.
