Zoals velen onder jullie weten, zijn wij momenteel op wereldreis met de intentie om Bardiau van op afstand verder uit te bouwen. Helaas verloopt dit niet zoals we hadden gehoopt in de afgelopen maanden.

De onzekerheden van morgen, het kampeerleven en de daarmee gepaarde ongestreken kledingstukken, de lange wachttijd voor nieuwe kledingstukken, en de tijd die we missen om te genieten van onze once in a lifetime experience, hebben ons doen besluiten om het kledingmerk tijdelijk on hold te zetten.

Wat betekent dit voor jou? We bieden de kledingstukken die we nog op voorraad hebben aan met de grootste korting die we ooit hebben gegeven. We houden niet van het bijhouden van een stock, om verschillende redenen. Daarom hebben jullie nu de kans om jullie Bardiau-item te bemachtigen.

We willen iedereen bedanken die ons de afgelopen jaren heeft gesteund en lof heeft gegeven aan ons kledingmerk. Dit heeft ons enorm veel plezier gedaan en zorgde ervoor dat we altijd gemotiveerd bleven.

Wij zullen echter niet stilzitten en zitten boordevol ideeën die we zullen uitwerken zodra we terug zijn. Voor nu is het dus geen vaarwel, maar tot ziens.

✨ WORLD TRIP UPDATE ✨

Zoals de meesten hier al weten, zijn de founders momenteel op wereldreis. Een reis rond de wereld met als eerste bestemming Australië. 🇦🇺

Er werden hier en daar al wat fotootjes gepost maar we hebben jullie nog geen volledige update gegeven van wat we hier nu juist doen, wat we al hebben geleerd, en wat er nog op de planning staat. Dringend tijd hiervoor dus! 🫣

De trip startte in Cairns, de plaats waar we op zoek gingen naar ons vervoersmiddel voor de komende maanden. 3 weken later kwam Ernie (de van) op ons pad, en waren we klaar om onze trip te starten. 😮‍💨

Deel 1 van de trip: De Oostkust.

And guys, it did not disappoint. Als Belg ben je gewoon om op 3 uur tijd naar grootsteden als Parijs en Amsterdam te gaan met wat koeien langs de weg ter bezichtiging. Op 3 uur tijd in Australië heb je 1 mm van de kaart afgelegd, heb je het gevoel drie verschillende continenten doorkruist te hebben, en gaan de gesprekken van wauw, naar oh my god, naar check hoe mooi!! 😍

📕 Learnings so far:

* Het leven is te kort & te mooi om niet 100% achter jouw beslissingen te staan, en iets te doen dat je niet graag doet

* Vrijheid om te kiezen wat te doen, naar waar te gaan & wanneer, is een goal dat we willen nastreven voor de rest van ons leven

* Door te reizen en uit je comfort zone te treden gebeuren allerlei mooie dingen: je ontmoet likeminded people, je creativiteit en inspiratie krijgen een boost & je hebt tijd om te reflecteren over je leven en je beslissingen

Wat staat er nog op de planning? ☀️

1 december moeten we in Sydney zijn, wat ongeveer 800 km van Byron Bay is. Samen met Juno zijn mama & Olana haar zus, zullen we samen rondtrekken in Tasmanië, een eiland onder Australië. Van 18 december tot 1 januari verblijven we in Sydney om de feestdagen door te brengen & nadien zullen we samen de route richting Melbourne starten. Will be good to see some familiar faces again. 😄

Voorts blijven we verder werken aan het uitbouwen van Bardiau & jullie te voorzien van onmisbare, exclusive kledingstukken. 💯

Als duurzaam kledingmerk zijn we altijd op zoek naar nieuwe manieren om onze impact op het milieu te verminderen. We zijn dan ook erg geïnteresseerd in hoe andere bedrijven over de hele wereld duurzame praktijken implementeren. Skyburry, Australië's oudste koffie- en grootste papajaplantage, is een mooi voorbeeld van een bedrijf dat zich inzet voor duurzame landbouw. Ze recyclen 100% van hun organisch afval en produceren de helft van hun eigen elektriciteit met zonnepanelen. In plaats van pesticiden te gebruiken om plagen te bestrijden, maken ze gebruik van een geïntegreerde gewasbescherming. Het milieuresearchcentrum van Skyburry zoekt naar manieren om de bodemvruchtbaarheid te verbeteren, het gebruik van chemicaliën te verminderen en afval te verminderen.
