When I moved to Antwerp ten years ago from the white ass Kempen, my first new friends were Moroccan.
I still can't explain why exactly, but the passionate stories they told me about the Moroccan, and specifically the Amazigh culture and language, captivated me on a deep level and hasn't let go of me since. Everything from its unique story to its beautiful fashion just resonates with me.
As someone who's obsessed with the future, science-fiction and the evolution of culture, I always wondered how one of the most beautiful cultures in the world would look like.
How would the fashion evolve? What would the impact of a superintelligent AI be on religion? Would robots be able to convert to the religion of that time?
Through .ai I want to document this creative process and build a new universe. Not with the specific goal of turning it into a project, but rather as a medium to channel my love for storytelling and world building.
But since I can't really draw, these ideas have always been stuck in my head.
That is until recently when AI tools like Midjourney started to show up which allow you to generate any image using just a few words.
Like many others, I have no clue where this technology is taking us, but I can say that for me it has been one of the most creatively liberating tools I have ever used.

For those wondering where most of my inspiration comes from, check out this interview from last night's Iedereen Beroemd where I talk about my obsession with UNDERCOVER, and what fashion means to me.

Everything in our Internet Society is so referenced & memed to death, fashion from brands like UNDERCOVER works as a balancer for me.

Whether it's Kurosawa's "Throne of Blood" or Michaël Borremans' "Black Mould" series, UNDERCOVER's Jonio Takahashi is a master in transforming references into collections that are both layered and conceptually 'pure'.

Furthermore, fashion not only allows me to inhabit the world of a designer but also to expand the storytelling of my own brand.

The collections I own inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey and Neon Genesis Evangelion aren't just beautiful, they also enrich the sci-fi-inspired world of Voidwalker.

Finally, as someone who's extremely online and often lost in his thoughts, fashion also helps me keep anchored to our physical reality.

It doesn't quite beat owning a real painting of Michaël Borremans, but for me, this coat is close enough :)

Since I gained quite a few new followers thanks to shout-out, I figured it would be a good moment to talk a bit about what I do with Voidwalker and what my philosophy is.
I'm just gonna paraphrase Francis Heller, who invited me to his podcast a few weeks ago, and who put it way better than I could:

"From growing up with the massive multiplayer online role playing game World of Warcraft to delving deep into the world of social media after graduating college, Vincent found and embraced the power of online communities early in life.
Having achieved a feeling of comfort and familiarity in the virtual world, Vincent wanted to invite others to “get onboard” as well. To him, Voidwalker is about helping people navigate the new space that is emerging: as a kind of “guide” or captain, he hopes to allow people to connect to various experts in the space, encouraging exploration and engagement of all people and eliminating barriers to entry or gatekeeping.

A few weeks ago I finally managed to properly visit the new exhibition in the together with .stubbe, and from .be .
As someone who hasn't been able to shut up about the MoMu for the past few months, you would think I would have visited the expo already, but to be honest I haven't had the mental bandwidth to fully absorb it until recently.
You can imagine my happiness when Subbacultcha asked me to walk through the exhibition and have a conversation about Antwerp fashion, cultural appropriation and the Metaverse.

I hate doing the same thing twice so for this year's edition of my class Social Media Storytelling at .thomasmorebe , I cooked up a little story with the help of !
Meet The Organization, a secret corporation hellbent on getting my ass if I don't pay them back.
Luckily I have a plan. Instead of giving them money, I proposed giving them free social media provided by my students. The may be powerful, but their personal branding sucks.
The brief for my students: use everything I teach you in the next five weeks to create some epic social media content for these suckers.
Sure, working for traditional clients is fun and practical, but I believe these folks are lot more fun to work on. I mean, who wouldn't want to do a social media campaign for an alien?
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the results and hope my students have some fun with this!

A few years ago I was asked to do a talk . While I definitely had a story to tell, I really struggled to find a narrative that connected all the cool s**t I had done like Pokémon GO and .
I knew digital tools and mobilizing people were important elements to this story, but I simply couldn't find the proper words and terms to describe it. I eventually settled for the title 'A Guide For People Who Do Epic S**t But Sometimes Wonder What The F**k They're Doing' and gave a fun talk about the impostor syndrome. Not the story I had in mind, but it did aptly describe how I felt then.
What I realized only years later, was that Voidwalker was my narrative all along.
What really opened my eyes to this was the strategic workshop I did at . While the Voidwalker Universe was quite fleshed out already, it lacked a cohesive structure.
1MD initially wasn't even sure if I needed a workshop since so many elements of Voidwalker were clearly defined already.
But having my assumptions challenged and allowing other people to rephrase my storytelling is one of the best things that have happened to me as an entrepreneur.
Not only did they map out a clear path forward, they also gave me three positioning concepts that really capture the essence of Voidwalker and Vince: Provoking Star Alignment, Curating Worlds and Creating Gateways.
These concepts not only represent a major strategic milestone, they also form the basis of my visual identity which I can't wait to unveil soon!
The visuals made , who's basically my art director, have really helped me refine Voidwalker. Despite being very creative, I have absolutely no illustration skills which can be very frustrating at times. People like Arno, but also and have really helped turning Voidwalker into an living and ever-expanding universe. Thank you ❤️.
