Hasan Saifuddin Chandan is widely regarded as one of the most influential and respected street photographers in Bangladesh. Judging a photography contest is an incredible honor—but also one of the hardest roles to take on. Behind every submission is a story, a moment, a vision… and most importantly, a piece of the photographer’s soul. As photographers, we know how deeply connected we are to our images. They’re not just photos—they're our children. We nurture them, we believe in them, and we send them out into the world with hope and pride.

That’s why it’s so painful when we, as jurors, have to make the tough calls—when amazing photographs don’t make the final cut. It doesn’t mean those images aren’t powerful or meaningful. Sometimes, it’s just about composition, theme alignment, originality, or that tiny edge of impact. And often, many deserving images miss out simply because the competition is so strong.

To every photographer who submitted: your work matters. Your vision matters. Whether awarded or not, your art has value. Please don’t be discouraged—keep shooting, keep telling your story, and keep believing in your work.
