মানবাধিকার? কিসের মানবাধিকার?

এই যে তৃতীয় বিশ্বের দেশগুলোয় মানবাধিকার নিয়ে এত প্রশ্ন, এত ঝামেলা কেন, কিসের জন্য? আমাদের তো অনেক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কাজ আছে! খাবার, জামাকাপড়, বাসস্থান, বিনোদন - এগুলো সবই তো মানবাধিকারের চেয়ে অনেক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ! মানবাধিকারই কি সব! কি প্রয়োজন মানবাধিকারের?

আর মানুষের মৌলিক অধিকার? হাহাহা! এখন সব দেশেই তো বাক স্বাধীনতা আছে! আপনি যা খুশি বলতে পারেন! যতক্ষণ না আপনি সরকারের সমালোচনা করেন...

ধর্মীয় স্বাধীনতা?
অবশ্যই! আপনি যেকোনো ধর্ম পালন করতে পারেন! যতক্ষণ না সেটা ইসলাম ছাড়া অন্য কিছু...

নারীর অধিকার?
হ্যাঁ, হ্যাঁ, অবশ্যই! নারীরা তো পুরুষদের সমান, সমকক্ষের! তবে যতক্ষণ না পুরুষদের সমান দায়িত্ব পালনের কথা বলে। পুরুষদের সমান কর্ম, দায়িত্ব পালনের হিসেব বাদে নারীরা পুরুষদের সমান!🤭

দক্ষিণ এশিয়ার দেশগুলোর মানবাধিকারের কথা বলছেন?

মুহাম্মাদ আলি ও বর্ণবাদের বিরুদ্ধে লড়াই

১৯৬৭ সাল, যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে বর্ণবাদ তুঙ্গে। মুহাম্মাদ আলি, তখন বিশ্বের সেরা মুষ্টিযোদ্ধা। কিন্তু তিনি শুধু মুষ্টিযুদ্ধের রিংয়েই লড়াই করেননি, বর্ণবাদের বিরুদ্ধেও লড়াই করেছেন।

An airman, Aaron Bushnell, tragically lost his life on Sunday night after setting himself on fire outside the Israeli Embassy in Washington as a form of protest against civilian casualties in Gaza. Rose M. Riley, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Air Force, confirmed this on Monday. Bushnell, 25, hailing from Whitman, Mass., served as a cyberdefense operations specialist with the 531st Intelligence Support Squadron at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in Texas since 2020.

It seems Bushnell recorded the protest and live-streamed it on Twitch. In the video, Bushnell, dressed in fatigues, declared himself as an active-duty Air Force officer and expressed his refusal to be complicit in what he termed as genocide in Gaza. He justified his extreme act of protest in light of the suffering endured by Palestinians under their colonizers.

At the gates of the Israeli Embassy, Bushnell poured a clear liquid from a metal bottle over himself before igniting it, shouting "Free Palestine!" until he collapsed. Law enforcement officers rushed to his aid moments before the fire took hold, attempting to extinguish the flames for over a minute. The U.S. Secret Service was the first to respond, with Bushnell later taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The video, which was later removed by Twitch due to policy violations, was the only content on the account, featuring a Palestinian flag as its header image. Col. Celina Noyes, commander of the 70th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing, expressed condolences to Bushnell's family and friends, emphasizing the impact felt throughout the Air Force community.

No staff members of the Israeli Embassy were harmed. Authorities, including the Secret Service, Bureau of Alcohol, To***co, Fi****ms and Explosives, and Washington's Metropolitan Police Department, are investigating the incident.

Protests against Israel have become increasingly frequent across the U.S. since the start of its military offensive in Gaza following Hamas attacks on October 7, resulting in a significant loss of life. স্বাধীনতা পরবর্তী বাংলাদেশের সামগ্রিক অবস্থা ছিল ভয়াবহ। পাকিস্তানি বাহিনীর নির্বিচার, নির্মম ধ্বংসযজ্ঞে বাংলাদেশ এক বিধ্বস্ত জনপদে পরিণত হয় । প্রশাসন থেকে শুরু করে দেশের অন্যান্য ভৌত অবকাঠামোর সবকিছুই ছিল বিপর্যস্ত। আন্তর্জাতিক ক্ষেত্রে ভারত ও ভুটান ব্যতীত অন্য কোন রাষ্ট্রের স্বীকৃতি বাংলাদেশ পায়নি। এমনকি বাংলাদেশ স্বাধীন রাষ্ট্র হিসেবে নিজের অস্তিত্ব টিকিয়ে রাখতে পারবে কিনা সে বিষয়েও সংশয় দেখা যায়। এমনই এক পরিস্থিতিতে এই বিধ্বস্ত জনপদের হাল ধরেন বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান। বঙ্গবন্ধুর শাসনামলে বাংলাদেশ বিভিন্ন ক্ষেত্রে অভূতপূর্ব সাফল্য অর্জন করে।

১৯৫২’র ভাষা আন্দোলন শুরু হয়েছিল মূলত ১৯৪৭ সালের দেশ বিভাগের পর থেকেই। ব্রিটিশ ভারতের পতনের পর থেকে বাংলাকে রাষ্ট্রভাষা করার দাবিতে সংঘটিত আন্দোলনই ভাষা আন্দোলন। এই ভাষা আন্দোলনেই রফিক শফিক বরকতের রক্তের বিনিময়ে বাংলা ভাষা তৎকালীন পাকিস্তান কর্তৃক রাষ্ট্র ভাষার স্বীকৃতি পায়। এই ভাষা আন্দোলনের প্রতিক্রিয়া এবং ফলাফল ছিল সুদূরপ্রসারী।

কখন বুঝবেন আপনার দেশ গণতান্ত্রিক দেশ নয়?

একবিংশ শতাব্দিতে এসে গণতান্ত্রিক ব্যবস্থা পরবির্তিত, পরিমার্জিত হয়ে এমন এক রূপ নিয়েছে যাকে আর যাইহোক, গণতন্ত্র বলা চলে না। এই গণতান্ত্রিক ব্যবস্থা শুধু নামের মধ্যেই সীমিত হয়ে এসেছে। গত শতাব্দীর মত এই সময়ে এসে সামরিক শাসন না থাকলেও অনেক দেশের গণতান্ত্রিক উপায়ে নির্বচিত সরকারগুলো নির্বাচনকে অনেকটাই নির্বাসনে পাঠিয়ে দিয়েছে। সরকারগুলো সামরিক একনায়কদের মতই আচরণ করছে। বেসামরিক সরকার হয়েও তারা সামরিক একনায়কদের পদাঙ্ক অনুসরণ করছে। একটি দেশের গণতান্ত্রিক কিনা তা নির্ধারণের জন্য বিভিন্ন মানদণ্ড রয়েছে।

House Republicans launch impeachment inquiry into Biden, Democrats call it a 'political stunt'

The Republican-led House of Representatives has formally backed an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, accusing him of bribery, corruption and influence-peddling in relation to his son's overseas business dealings.

The House voted 221 to 212 - entirely along party lines - on Wednesday to authorize a resolution that gives more power and authority to the House oversight committee, which is leading the investigation.

The resolution also sets the rules and procedures for the inquiry, such as the rights of the president and his counsel, the scope of the subpoenas and the role of the minority party.

The House speaker, Mike Johnson, said the resolution was necessary to overcome the "stonewalling" and "obstruction" from the White House, which has refused to cooperate with the inquiry and provide documents and witnesses.

"We have no choice. We have to take the next step. We're not making a political decision. It's not. It's a legal decision," Johnson said at a news conference on Tuesday.

But Democrats denounced the inquiry as a "political stunt" and a "witch hunt" designed to damage Biden's re-election bid in 2024. They argued that Republicans have failed to produce any credible evidence of wrongdoing by the president, and that the inquiry is based on conspiracy theories and lies.

The Palestine war is an ongoing conflict between Israel and a Palestinian group Hamas, that started on October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip. The latest casualties of the Palestine War:
- According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, as of December 10, 2023, more than 19,000 Palestinians and Israelis have been killed in the war, including 63 journalists and over 100 UNRWA aid workers. Over 17,700 Palestinians (mostly women and children) have been killed in Gaza alone.

সাক্ষ্য কত প্রকার?
বাংলাদেশের সাক্ষ্য আইন, ১৮৭২ অনুযায়ী সাক্ষ্য প্রধানত তিন ধরণের, প্রথমত মৌখিক সাক্ষ্য ও দ্বিতীয়ত, দালিলিক সাক্ষ্য ও শারীরিক বা ফরেনসিক সাক্ষ্য। তবে এই তিন ধরণের সাক্ষ্যের বাইরে সাক্ষ্যকে আরো কয়েক প্রকারভেদে আলোচনা করা যায়। বাংলাদেশের সাক্ষ্য আইন এবং প্রখ্যাত আইনবীদদের মতামত আলোচনা করে সাক্ষ্যের অন্যান্য প্রকারভেদ নিম্নরূপঃ

ক. প্রত্যক্ষ সাক্ষ্য ও অবস্থাগত সাক্ষ্য;
খ. প্রাথমিক ও গৌণ সাক্ষ্য;
গ. মৌখিক সাক্ষ্য, দালিলিক সাক্ষ্য, শারীরিক ও ফরেনসিক সাক্ষ্য;

ভার্সাই চুক্তি হলো প্রথম বিশ্বযুদ্ধের পরপর অনুষ্ঠিত প্যারিস শান্তি সম্মেলনে মিত্রশক্তি এবং জার্মানির মধ্যে সম্পাদিত একটি শান্তি চুক্তি। ১৯১৯ সালের ২৮ জুন ফ্রান্সের ভার্সাই প্রাসাদে এই চুক্তি সম্পাদিত হয়েছিল। দ্বিতীয় বিশ্বযুদ্ধের জন্য জার্মানির ওপর সমস্ত দায়ভার চাপিয়ে দিয়ে চরম অবমাননাকর এই চুক্তিতে জার্মানিকে বাধ্য করা হয়। এমনকি চুক্তির পক্ষ জার্মানিকেই প্যারিস শান্তি সম্মেলনে সম্মেলনে অনুপস্থিত রাখা হয়। জার্মানির সার্বভৌমত্ব, অর্থনীতি, রাজনীতি ও সামরিক খাত সম্পূর্ণভাবে নিয়ন্ত্রণে নিয়ে আসার উদ্দেশ্যেই এই চুক্তি জার্মানিদের ওপর চাপিয়ে দেয়া হয়।
