আসলে আমার নাম রবি ঘোষ দস্তিদার। বয়স ৬০। পিতা ৺দীপেন্দ্রনাথ ঘোষ দস্তিদার, মাতা ৺জ্যোৎস্নারানি ঘোষ দস্তিদার। সাকিন কলকাতা। আদি নিবাস বরিশাল। খাস বাঙাল। আমি হতে পারতাম সার্কাসের দলের জিমন্যাস্ট, হতে পারতাম ওয়েট লিফটিং-এ বেঙ্গল চ্যাম্পিয়ন, পুলিশ কোর্টের কেরানিবাবু হয়েও জীবনটা কাটিয়ে দিতে পারতাম—এর প্রত্যেকটিরই তুমুল সম্ভাবনা ছিল। কিন্তু হতে পারলাম না। সেই ছোট্টবেলাতেই ‘থিয়েটার’ আর ‘অ্যাক্টিং’ শব্দ দুটো মাথায় গুবড়ে পোকার মতো বাসা গেড়ে বসেছিল। তাই আর পাঁচজনের মতো জীবনের সহজ সরল গতিতে ভেসে যেতে পারলাম না। জীবন যুদ্ধে সংগ্রাম করতে করতে, বহু উত্থান আর পতনকে অঙ্গীকার করে আজ আমি অভিনেতা রবি ঘোষ।
