He isn't hailed as one of the best full-backs ever without any reason. Just have a look at that assist map. Look at those beautiful curves originating from the left flank and ending in the box. He could create a quality chance from anywhere on the left flank. Marcelo had the power to make crosses look perfect and beautiful with his pinpoint accuracy and fantastic technique.
Opponents were terrified when they saw a prime Marcelo running down the left, combining with Cristiano Ronaldo. Those were the days when Real Madrid's left flank meant attack, attack and attack!
