দেশে করোনা ২৪ ঘণ্টায় ছাড়াল ১৫ শতাংশ

সারা দেশে সর্বশেষ ২৪ ঘণ্টায় করোনাভাইরাসে শনাক্ত রোগীর সংখ্যা ছাড়িয়েছে ১৫ শতাংশ। মহামারির শুরু থেকে এখন পর্যন্ত মোট শনাক্তের হার ১৩ দশমিক ৬১ শতাংশ।
এ সময়ে আরও ৭৩৭ জনের দেহে করোনা শনাক্ত হয়। এ নিয়ে মোট শনাক্ত রোগীর সংখ্যা দাঁড়িয়েছে ২০ লাখ ২৩ হাজার ১৪৫ জনে। এ সময়ে মারা গেছেন আরও একজন। ফলে মোট মৃতের সংখ্যা বেড়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে ২৯ হাজার ৩৬০ জনে।

মঙ্গলবার (২৭ সেপ্টেম্বর) বিকেলে স্বাস্থ্য অধিদফতর থেকে পাঠানো করোনাবিষয়ক নিয়মিত সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এসব তথ্য জানানো হয়েছে।

এর আগে সোমবার (২৬ সেপ্টেম্বর) করোনাভাইরাসে আক্রান্ত ছয়জনের মৃত্যু হয়। এ ছাড়া করোনা শনাক্ত হয় ৭১৮ জনের দেহে।

বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়, সবশেষ ২৪ ঘণ্টায় করোনা থেকে সুস্থ হয়েছেন আরও ৪১১ জন। এখন পর্যন্ত সুস্থ হয়েছেন ১৯ লাখ ৬৩ হাজার ৭১৯ জন।
সর্বশেষ ২৪ ঘণ্টায় ৪ হাজার ৮২৯ জনের নমুনা সংগ্রহ করা হয়। পরীক্ষা করা হয় ৪ হাজার ৭৮১ জনের নমুনা। পরীক্ষার বিপরীতে শনাক্তের হার ১৫ দশমিক ৪২ শতাংশ। মহামারির শুরু থেকে এখন পর্যন্ত মোট শনাক্তের হার ১৩ দশমিক ৬১ শতাংশ।

২০২০ সালের ৮ মার্চ দেশে প্রথম ৩ জনের দেহে করোনাভাইরাস শনাক্ত হয়। এর ১০ দিন পর ওই বছরের ১৮ মার্চ দেশে এ ভাইরাসে আক্রান্ত হয়ে প্রথম একজনের মৃত্যু হয়। ২০২১ সালের ৫ ও ১০ আগস্ট দুদিন সর্বাধিক ২৬৪ জন করে মারা যান।

গাছ বিক্রির জেরে ছুরিকাঘাতে ভাইকে হত্যার অভিযোগ, সৎভাই ও মা আটক

জামালপুর সদর উপজেলায় সৎভাইয়ের বিরুদ্ধে বড় ভাইকে ছুরি মেরে হত্যার অভিযোগ উঠেছে। আজ সোমবার দুপুরে উপজেলার কেন্দুয়া ইউনিয়নের দেয়ানীপাড়া গ্রামে একটি কাঁঠালগাছ কেটে বিক্রির জেরে এ ঘটনা ঘটে।

নিহত ব্যক্তির নাম মো. আফিক (৩৫)। তিনি দেয়ানীপাড়া গ্রামের মৃত আজাদ মিয়ার ছেলে। তিনি পেশায় একজন শ্রমিক ছিলেন। আফিককে হত্যার অভিযোগে সৎভাই মো. মনজিল (২২) ও তাঁর মা মনজুরা বেগমকে (৫০) আটক করেছে স্থানীয় সূত্রে জানা যায়, নিহত আফিক একা থাকতেন। তাঁর মা হাওয়া বেগম ছোট থাকতেই মারা যান। এরপর তাঁর বাবা মনজুরা বেগমকে বিয়ে করেন। আফিক অন্যের জমিতে ছোট একটি ঘর তুলে থাকতেন। আর বাবার বাড়িতে সৎভাই ও মা থাকতেন। সম্প্রতি তাঁরা ঢাকায় চলে যান। এর মধ্যে আফিক বাড়ির একটি কাঁঠালগাছ বিক্রি করেন। এ খবর পেয়ে গতকাল রোববার সন্ধ্যার দিকে ঢাকা থেকে মনজিল ও তাঁর মা বাড়িতে আসেন। আজ দুপুর ১২টার দিকে বাড়ির সামনের গাছ বিক্রি নিয়ে মনজিল ও আফিকের মধ্যে ঝগড়া শুরু হয়। তখন আফিককে ছুরিকাঘাত করেন মনজিল। এতে ঘটনাস্থলেই আফিকের মৃত্যু হয়। খবর পেয়ে পুলিশ
মনজিল ও তাঁর মা মনজুরা বেগমকে আটক করে। বেলা ১টার দিকে পুলিশ বাড়ি থেকে লাশটি উদ্ধার করে ময়নাতদন্তের জন্য জামালপুর জেনারেল হাসপাতালের মর্গে পাঠায়।

জামালপুর সদর থানার উপপরিদর্শক সিরাজুল ইসলাম বলেন, একটি কাঁঠালগাছ বিক্রিকে কেন্দ্র করে ওই হত্যার ঘটনা ঘটেছে। হত্যার পর ছুরি হাতে ঘাতক দাঁড়িয়ে ছিলেন। ওই ব্যক্তি ও তাঁর মাকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়েছে। এ ঘটনায় আইনগত ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হচ্ছে।

স্কুলছাত্রী হত্যার বিচারের দাবিতে মানববন্ধন নোয়াখালীতে

নোয়াখালী শহরে নিজ বাসায় এক স্কুলছাত্রীকে (১৪) ধর্ষণের পর হত্যার ঘটনার বিচারের দাবিতে মানববন্ধন করেছেন চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থীরা। আজ রোববার দুপুর সাড়ে ১২টায় ক্যাম্পাসের শহীদ মিনারের সামনে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে অধ্যয়নরত ‘নোয়াখালী জেলার শিক্ষার্থীবৃন্দ’ ব্যানারে এ মানববন্ধন করা হয়।

মানববন্ধন সঞ্চালনা করেন নৃবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের তৃতীয় বর্ষের শিক্ষার্থী নজরুল ইসলাম। এ সময় পরিসংখ্যান বিভাগের স্নাতকোত্তরের শিক্ষার্থী আনসারুল হক বলেন, শিক্ষকদের বলা হয় মানুষ গড়ার কারিগর। অথচ অষ্টম শ্রেণির এক ছাত্রী নিজের ঘরে যখন তার শিক্ষকের হাতেই এমন ঘটনার শিকার হয়, তখন এর চেয়ে লজ্জার বিষয় আর কিছু হতে পারে না। নিজ ঘরে নারী নিরাপদ নয়,
আর কোথায় নিরাপত্তা আশা করব? ধর্ষণ ও হত্যায় জড়িত ওই গৃহশিক্ষককে ফাঁসি দিতে হবে।

ইতিহাস বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থী ফাহমিদা আক্তার বলেন, ‘এই একুশ শতকে এসে অন্য দেশে যখন নারীরা যুগের সঙ্গে পাল্লা দিয়ে এগিয়ে যাচ্ছে, সেখানে এ দেশে নারীদের নিরাপত্তার নিশ্চয়তা নেই। নিজ ঘরে গলা কেটে হত্যার চেয়ে ভয়ানক ঘটনা তো কল্পনাও করা যায় না। আমরা এ ঘটনার দৃষ্টান্তমূলক শাস্তি দাবি করছি।’

গত বৃহস্পতিবার রাতে শহরের লক্ষ্মীনারায়ণপুর এলাকার একটি বাসা থেকে স্কুলছাত্রীর (১৪) গলাকাটা লাশ উদ্ধার করে সুধারাম থানার পুলিশ। ওই ছাত্রী নোয়াখালীর একটি বিদ্যালয়ের অষ্টম শ্রেণিতে পড়ত। পরিবারের অভিযোগ, ওই ছাত্রীকে ধর্ষণের পর হত্যা করা হয়েছে।

ছাত্রীর গৃহশিক্ষক আবদুর রহিম আদালতে হত্যার দায় স্বীকার করে ১৬৪ ধারায় জবানবন্দি দিয়েছেন। ধর্ষণচেষ্টার ঘটনা সবাইকে জানিয়ে দেওয়ার কথা বলার পর ওই ছাত্রীকে তিনি প্রথমে বালিশচাপা দিয়ে হত্যা করেন। জবানবন্দিতে গলা ও হাতের রগ কেটে ছাত্রীর মৃত্যু নিশ্চিত করার কথা স্বীকার করেন আবদুর রহিম।

চবিতে ছাত্রলীগের সংঘর্ষ, আহত ৩

চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শাখা ছাত্রলীগের দুই উপপক্ষের মধ্যে আবারও সংঘর্ষ হয়েছে। এতে তিনজন আহত হওয়ার খবর পাওয়া গেছে। আজ সোমবার বেলা দুইটার দিকে শহীদ আবদুর রব হলের সামনে এ ঘটনা ঘটে। পরে পুলিশ ও প্রক্টরিয়াল বডির হস্তক্ষেপে বিকেল পাঁচটার দিকে পরিস্থিতি নিয়ন্ত্রণে আসে।

ছাত্রলীগ সূত্র জানায়, ২০২১-২২ শিক্ষাবর্ষে শিক্ষার্থী ভর্তি করানো নিয়ে গতকাল রোববার ইসলামের ইতিহাস ও সংস্কৃতি বিভাগের প্রথম বর্ষের শিক্ষার্থী মোবারক হোসেনের সঙ্গে কথা–কাটাকাটি হয় আইন বিভাগের প্রথম বর্ষের শিক্ষার্থী মনিরুজ্জামানের। মোবারক বিজয় উপপক্ষের ও মনিরুজ্জামান চুজ ফ্রেন্ডস উইথ কেয়ার সিএফসির অনুসারী। এর জেরে গতকাল বিকেল পাঁচটায় ক্যাম্পাসের ২ নম্বর গেট এলাকায় মনিরুজ্জামানকে
পিটিয়ে জখম করেন বিজয় উপপক্ষের মোবারক হোসেনসহ ১০–১৫ জন নেতা-কর্মী।এ ঘটনায় ১৩ জনের নাম উল্লেখ করে গতকাল দিবাগত রাত একটায় হাটহাজারী থানায় মামলা করা হয়। মামলায় অজ্ঞাতনামা আরও পাঁচজনকে আসামি করা হয়। মামলার বাদী ছিলেন সিএফসির অনুসারী ও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শাখা ছাত্রলীগের আইন সম্পাদক খালেদ মাসুদ। এর পর থেকে দুই উপপক্ষের নেতা–কর্মীদের মধ্যে উত্তেজনা বিরাজ করছিল।

গতকালের ঘটনার জেরে আজ বেলা একটায় আইন অনুষদের সামনে সিএফসির কর্মী ও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ফিজিক্যাল এডুকেশন অ্যান্ড স্পোর্টস সায়েন্স বিভাগের প্রথম বর্ষের শিক্ষার্থী বিক্রম রায়কে মারধর করেন বিজয় উপপক্ষের নেতা–কর্মীরা। এতে সিএফসির ক্ষুব্ধ কর্মীরা বিজয় উপপক্ষের সংস্কৃত বিভাগের প্রথম বর্ষের সুরঞ্জিত অধিকারী ও একই বর্ষের সমাজতত্ত্ব বিভাগের মাহমুদুল হাসানকে মারধর করলে ক্যাম্পাসের পরিস্থিতি আরও উত্তপ্ত হয়ে ওঠে।

এরপর বিজয় উপপক্ষের নেতা-কর্মীরা আলাওল, এ এফ রহমান ও সোহরাওয়ার্দী হল থেকে লাঠিসোঁটা, রামদা, ইটপাটকেল নিয়ে বের হয়ে শহীদ আবদুর রব হলের দিকে যান। একপর্যায়ে তাঁদের ধাওয়া দেন সিএফসির নেতা–কর্মীরা। পরে তাঁরা সোহরাওয়ার্দী হলের সামনে এসে জড়ো হন। সিএফসির নেতা-কর্মীরা জড়ো হন শাহ আমানত হলের সামনে। পরে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রক্টরিয়াল বডির সদস্য ও পুলিশের হস্তক্ষেপে পরিস্থিতি নিয়ন্ত্রণে আসে।বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সহকারী প্রক্টর শহিদুল ইসলাম বলেন, মারামারির পর দুই উপপক্ষের নেতা–কর্মীদের ডেকে বিষয়টি সমাধান করা হয়েছে। এর সঙ্গে কারা জড়িত ছিলেন, সেটি খতিয়ে দেখা হচ্ছে।

সিএফসি উপপক্ষের নেতৃত্বে শাখা ছাত্রলীগের সভাপতি রেজাউল হক। সংষর্ষের বিষয়ে জানতে চেয়ে রেজাউলের মুঠোফোনে একাধিকবার কল করা হলেও তিনি ধরেননি। পরে সিএফসির নেতা ও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শাখা ছাত্রলীগের সহসভাপতি মির্জা খবির সাদাফ প্রথম আলোকে বলেন, তাঁদের দুই কর্মীকে অতর্কিতভাবে বিজয় উপপক্ষের নেতা–কর্মীরা মারধর করেছেন। বিজয় উপপক্ষকে প্রতিহত করেছেন তাঁরা। পরে দুই পক্ষের জ্যেষ্ঠরা বসে বিষয়টি সমাধান করেছেন। তবে এ বিষয়ে বিজয় উপপক্ষের কোনো নেতা মন্তব্য করতে রাজি হননি।

বর্তমানে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শাখা ছাত্রলীগের রাজনীতি দুটি পক্ষে বিভক্ত। একটি পক্ষ সাবেক সিটি মেয়র ও নগর আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক আ জ ম নাছির উদ্দীনের অনুসারী, আরেকটি পক্ষ শিক্ষা উপমন্ত্রী মহিবুল হাসান চৌধুরীর অনুসারী হিসেবে ক্যাম্পাসে পরিচিত। এ দুটি পক্ষের মধ্যে আবার ১১টি উপপক্ষ রয়েছে। এর মধ্যে বিজয় ও সিএফসি মহিবুলের আর বাকি নয়টি উপপক্ষ নাছিরের অনুসারী। সিএফসির নেতা–কর্মীরা শাহ আমানত ও শহীদ আবদুর রব হলে থাকেন। অপর দিকে বিজয়ের নেতা–কর্মীরা থাকেন আলাওল, এ এফ রহমান ও সোহরাওয়ার্দী হলে।
