Is SEO dead? I don't have an answer. However, I can speculate.
All these years doing SEO, I learned different techniques from multiple industry experts like Brian Dean, Income Shools, Neil Patel, Gotch SEO, Ignite Visibility, and lastly, Koray Tigberk Gubur.
My SEO strategy is a compilation of techniques from different experts. My unique strategy is a combination of tactics from multiple SEO. But it's mostly using written content to drive traffic.
Nevertheless, I figured out a few key things about SEO after the helpful content update to know whether SEO is still a thing in 2025:
a) SEO is not about ranking blogs anymore but ranking real businesses. It should have been like this from the beginning but SEOs like quick results using a blog. Despite not having a brick-and-mortar store you must have your digital platform in this decade. An online entity will create value in others' life.
b) Ranking local businesses is the best SEO technique today. Google wants local businesses to flourish. Does that mean local businesses need a blog? I'll update you on that in a different post.
c) Local businesses may focus on entity-oriented SEO. If topical authority is costly, having a well-structured website can do the magic.
d) Marking up websites with schema is significant. It reduces ambiguity for search engines and eases the crawlbot's task of parsing what is on the webpage.
To summarize, SEO is not dead but the old way of tricking Google to send traffic to an affiliate post is dead. We should have seen it coming for a long time now.
Build a business to genuinely be valuable for your users. Take some time to create an offer and not just blog posts.
